So this issue does not go away. Even after the Alabama Supreme Court order got quickly reversed legislatively and every Republican elected official distanced themselves, at least rhetorically, and emphatically proclaimed that there would never be any limitations on IVF availability, not so fast. Senate Republicans have refused to sign on, calling supporting guarantees of IVF an attack on religious liberty (don't try to make that position make sense). Now the Southern Baptist Convention, which seems to have the ability to set national policy regardless of how unpopular that policy might be with the public or whether it is remotely constitutional, has come out against IVF.

I think they did ban them. They disfellowshipped an Arlington Church for having a female preacher. Of course, we Catholics can hardly condemn for that exclusionary practice, although I think it’s wrong in both, which is part of why Episcopalianism may be in my future, certainly already would if I lived on the Upper West Side. At one time Trump was pro-choice on the abortion issue. Before he became a politician his position was that although he personally opposed abortion he didn't think that government should be involved in an otherwise personal decision. That didn't stop him from packing the Supreme Court with justices willing to overturn Roe v. Wade. If a Republican majority Congress passed a "life begins at conception" law which would have the indirect effect of banning IVF since IVF frequently results in the disposal of frozen embryos that are no longer needed Trump would sign it.
Yup. If banning IVF kept him out of jail or even if he just got a fancy sash to wear that said "World's Greatest President", he'd ban it in a hot minute.
This could really help flip NC. Abortion is the #1 issue they are pushing here in NC against the pig of human the pubs are putting up for Gov. NC has gerrymandered the crap out of the state but they can't gerrymander the Pres or Gov races.
