I tend to think the source was probably the lawyer who appeared for the reluctant witness. The same lawyer the Judge finally acknowledged could withdraw (the client actually said he didn't want or need her anymore) and after which the Judge entered the Order to Show Cause making her and others show up at a later hearing. What I'm not clear about is why the lawyer would be in trouble for communicating what had been said unless the ex parte meeting was itself confidential or the Judge believes the lawyer was violating the rights of the witness.

I hadn't thought of that, and it's an excellent point.

I still find this wild. I don't know how the ex parte could be justified, and the judge's failure to address that is hard to understand

If the title was “Old Thug’s lawyer held in contempt” I would’ve definitely thought it was about Trump

Utmost respect for all the legal minds commenting on this but I can't believe no one here knew who Young Thug was.

No offense taken. I am what I am, an old white guy. I would look even more foolish if I tried to act culturally relevant

The Georgia Appeals Court immediately forwarded to the Georgia Supreme Court which ruled for the defense attorney. Bottom line, this case is reversible and should be stopped. The judge should be disbarred, and Fani Willis' office is completely corrupt and incompetent. Fulton County is as corrupt as it gets.

Anyone wanting to know about this case can find plenty of fireworks on YouTube.

Or a young BLM protester or rioter during the “Summer of Love” in 2020. I’m sure you remember all the destruction of Federal Buildings and the police stations and other properties being badly damaged or totally destroyed.

    I certainly do.

I also remember hoping that everyone criminal or violent was promptly dealt with by the justice system. And that every leader who incited violence was also dealt with similarly.

Now it's your turn. Do you hope that everyone violent on J6 is dealt with by the legal system? Do you hope that every leader who incited this violence is held to account legally? Certainly you can't support anyone whose incessant lying about fake election fraud incited these riots? Definitely you don't support anyone who ignored their oath to the Constitution and gleefully watched for over 3 hours as cops were beaten and our Capitol desecrated?

Am I right? Or do you support criminality? Do you cast your vote for it?

Judge Glanville got caught with his hand in the cookie jar and then held the lawyer in contempt because he was angry he got caught. I would be surprised if this isn't overturned.

I know who Young Thug is. Not a fan of his music, but I know of him and have heard a few of his songs.

Young Thug changes plea to guilty in Georgia's longest-running criminal trial

Atlanta rap star Young Thug changed his plea to guilty Thursday in Georgia’s longest-running criminal trial, but averted prison time with probation, bringing a stunning close to a chapter of a case that has riveted court watchers for nearly two years.

The plea change by the rapper, whose real name is Jeffery Lamar Williams, appeared on the brink of not happening after Superior Court Judge Paige Whitaker asked if he agreed to a nonnegotiated plea. That means prosecutors and the defense could not come to a sentencing deal, and that the judge would ultimately decide his punishment.

The parties returned after a brief recess, and Young Thug agreed to plead guilty to drug- and gun-related charges and no contest to charges of conspiracy and participating in a street gang.

Whitaker sentenced him to 40 years that would have forced him to serve five years in prison, but she commuted it to time served. In addition, he must complete 15 years of probation, which can result in 20 years to be served in custody if probation is not successful.

Okay, I got too wrapped up in this trial but it was legally crazy and fascinating. I will say I was very impressed with defense counsel as well as the Judge who took over the case. I think Georgia is going to have to reconsider the way they tried to use RICO here.
