Irrelevant. Hunter has committed several crimes and this prosecutor knows it and his failed attempt at covering them up was blown out of the water. There’s another felony trial in a couple months and possibly more to come. Prosecutor also knows he had a big hand in allowing statute to expire on obvious other crimes. Why do you think they tried to get immunity on any and all future prosecutions?

More trial revelations, Joe still refuses to speak to his granddaughter. Shuns her at every turn. It is not difficult at all to see how Hunter became such a POS. Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

I think it’s funny that no one on the left is defending Hunter, pretty much anywhere. It’s like the right wants them to so they can rationalize their Trump defense, but at most it’s a tepid “overcharging” concern.
If he’s guilty, convict him and let it be done. No one cares.

Seems the lesson here, and for Trump, Santos, Menendez, etc is don't put yourself squarely in the public limelight if you have (criminal) skeletons in your closet. Even though Hunter isn't the one in politics, he sure did a whole hell of a lot to shine the spotlight on himself.

Also, rather than asking why Hunter is being prosecuted for something for which others are rarely prosecuted, I'd want to know why others are rarely prosecuted. I could see any exception for marijuana, but I don't want anyone using harder to drugs to get a pass for lying in order to be able to buy a gun.

Although off-topic there have been multiple stories in the right-wing media recently indicating that Joe Biden hasn't met with his Navy Roberts his granddaughter none of the articles indicated that he specifically refused to speak with her. Seems that you are oversimplifying a complex situation and by the way this what Lunden Roberts, the girl's mother said on the subject:
Although she said that the Bidens (presumably Joe and Jill) haven't reached out to her she also never indicated that she tried to reach them and was rebuffed.

So you apparently favor selective prosecution based on the political relationship of the defendant? If Hunter Biden was anyone else the chances are that he would have never been prosecuted and if charges were filed the government would have been very amenable to a plea deal up front under which defendant received probation. By the way now that Weiss has extracted his pound of flesh there's actually a strong possibility that he will agree to probation when Hunter is sentenced.

As far as the tax case is concerned a strong argument can also be made that it's another example of selective prosecution considering the taxpayers who have failed to timely file a tax return and later do so along with paying all back taxes plus interest and penalties are very seldom prosecuted.

Even Hallie knew Hunter was dangerous. She threw the gun in the trash 11 days after he bought it. Hunter could have killed somebody and likely would have.

I really don't care about HB one way or another but isn't it kinda crazy that a matter of days after basically saying the whole justice system should be torn down conservatives are celebrating the justice system? I really just can't even grasp this level of cognitive dissonance.
