This is why when I taught the unit on the judiciary I took great pains to distinguish between conservative vs. liberal and restraint vs. activist. The current court is incredibly activist.

Not just the High Court but all the way down. They've all been trained and marinated in ideology and fired up that they need to go out there and take control of US government in every aspect, regardless of whether it's before them.

I'm not talking about normal politics, these people canned abortion, want to abolish secular education for religous ones, want to re-write the Bill of Rights, encourage segregation, destroy Unions, cancel social security, leave NATO, enslave or murder immigrants, build walls, replace medicine with prayer or bleach, and blame the other,
