I wouldn't. She really doesn't offer much of what we need to come in and compete with the stack we've got. I don't remember if she was a shortstop in travel but when she played at OU I think it was at second since no way she would get a chance to play short. She is another in a long line of supposed elite recruits that go to OU thinking they will be stars and spend as much time on the bench as on the field. At least that's my impression from what I have seen. OU, as the only team in the country that I am aware of, doesn't post their team and individual stats. But that's OU. They think they are different than the rest of the world and they are going to find out starting next year that life will be different.
Average stats but possibly showed some promise as a freshman. Don't know much about her playing with no exposure at Cal.
She was very much in the mix for the starting ss job. At OU if you're not a homerun hitter you're not playing consistently. Hodge isn't as much of a power hitter as she is a gap to gap hitter and can slap. Very good defensively. She unfortunately for us has great games against Keagen and got rallies going for them.
Finally found her numbers for this year and I still contend she brings nothing to the table that we need: Hodge hit .284 for the year with nine RBIs, five doubles, 11 walks and nine strikeouts in 74 total at-bats.
All I'm saying is she never had consistent abs to get great numbers all season, but she did do very good in the wcws. Obviously the talent is there. I'm also not saying we need her or want her, but I don't think she would be a bad pickup if she did end up here.
My current transfer portal wish/need list: Grad Transfer Catcher. We need a bullpen catcher. Currently only have the 2 catchers on the roster and one is the starting 3B. Need some depth here for practical purposes. Pitcher. While this season proved you still can get away with riding 2 arms for the vast majority of the innings, I’d rather not have to. And while we should get more help from a sophomore Miller and can probably get some innings out of the freshman Oxley, another arm is hard to say no to. Another arm also opens up the potential for Rothrock to bat as well. Impact Middle Infielder. And when I say impact, I mean All SEC potential the likes of Otis or Erickson. 2B or SS. If they don’t have that kind of potential, then I am fine rolling with the freshman Comia at SS and letting Hovermale and Williams battle it out for 2B. In RF we have 3 high level candidates so I don’t see the need for another body there. I see Lamar getting some time at 1B when Brown pitches.
I keep seeing that apparently Canady is considering a move for big $. I could see thst causing problems where ever she ends up in the locker room.
Of course OU boards would say that. Ou boards have been saying Canady is transferring since the first time we saw her pitch. They are like a pack of wild dogs that see meat whenever a stud pitcher is on the field. They said it last season and she’s still there and I get if I look for back enough I would find some comments about her changing her commitment to Stanford before she signed her letter of intent
I'm not saying it's true. I'm jsut saying what I've seen and add it with what's been said here... until her name hits the portal I find it hard to belive. I thinks she'll be a grad transfer one day possibly.
