Yeah, I'm sure everybody would tune in to see her sit on the bench and be happy to see that.

I certainly watched more of the women's NCAA tourney that I ever have and it was because of Clark. She's a helluva player and the attention she's brought to the women's game is great.
But I think maybe the obsession with her could cool off a bit ...

Not sure what Caitlyn Clark has to do with MAGA but leave it up to you to bring it up. Heck, I saw NY Daily News sportswriter Mike Lupica, who is as a vocal Democrat that you will find, be extremely critical of the decision to leave Clark off the team.

I sure don’t follow the WNBA but based on the Clark’s stats so far, there have to be at least 15-20 women more qualified to be on the team. On the other hand, if you need a spot up catch and shoot player perhaps Clark could have effectively filled that role as putting together an Olympic roster isn’t always just picking the best 12-15 players.

The bottom line is that the US should select players who give them the best chance to bring home the gold medal. If Clark isn’t one of those, so be it. As she continues to develop on the pro game, she should have plenty of other opportunities in the future.

It’s pretty obvious. She’s the rights new darling, a pawn they can use in their perpetual war against the woke left. That’s why they’re crying about the mean black lesbians who are bullying her.

That's not really her game at this juncture. She's like Luka Doncic. Ball-dominant player with great court vision, passing ability, and shot-creation skills. But being a rookie, she's turnover prone and inconsistent. Is it possible she could do well in a catch-and-shoot role? Sure. But it takes some guess work to see her in that role because it's not one she's traditionally played. Plus, she's not a great defender, so you don't have that 3-and-D value.

All this to say, there are better players for that role. Her role is one that is already taken on this squad by players who are currently better. In four years, I expect that'll be a different story.

The WNBA has been subsidized since day 1 by the NBA. And has yet to run a profit. We will see how long Clark can keep people talking about the league. But this was an opportunity to build on the one player that brought outside eyes to the women’s game.

LOL! There is nothing right or left about this. I have not watched a single game. I did watch the a little bit of the Final Four to see her game. She is really good. Though she whined a bit the times I watched to the refs.

Women’s basketball is a tough watch imo. Soccer and Softball are a different story.

I am sure far more people would be talking Women’s basketball if she was on the team.

I hadn't thought about a left/right to the Clark story. And I certainly wouldn't call her the right's new darling. But I look at the Fox and CNN websites fairly often, and Fox does seem to have a lot more coverage of her. Right now, CNN has one Clark story about the Olympics well down the page. Fox has eight stories on Clark with one of the top stories being that another player mocked her. That's right, another player actually mocked her! Another gem on Fox website:

She shouldn't bother, they wouldn't accept it anyway.

    "Catch and shoot"???

She shoots barely 30% from 3. Why would the specialist you get to do that one thing be her? There are multiple players who hit over 50%, playing that exact role.

I mean they must have accepted them from Plum and Ionescu, why not Clark?

This is why I'm not on team "lets get more people watching it can only be good" - it will just become nauseating culture war fare for the worst people alive
