A big difference is that some if not the majority of the posts supposedly showing that Biden is cognitively challenged have been the result of creative editing the ones showing Biden trying to sit in a nonexistent chair at the D-Day event and the one supposedly showing Biden being aided by Jill to walk in the right direction coming immediately to mind while Trump's performance at his Las Vegas rally didn't require any editing at all. By the way the explanation of his performance is rather simple. His teleprompter was malfunctioning and he tried to ad lib. The fact that he came over as bat shit crazy really didn't matter to his supporters since he did put on a rather entertaining show. So, and I can't believe I sank any additional resources into this, apparently once the Teleprompter went down and he was on his own, he tried to pivot to attacking renewable energy. His concern is apparently that a battery on an electric boat would cause it to sink, leading to this impossible choice of having to choose death by electrocution or being eaten alive by a shark. But my favorite new piece of info was how it started: "It must be because of M.I.T., my relationship with M.I.T., very smart..."
Now he's talking about water and batteries. This is what Trump had to say about water and magnets earlier this year. It's almost as if Trump is a complete and utter fool. I assume you are referring to the wapo article linked above. Whataboutism is an interesting double edged sword. On one hand, comparisons must be permitted or how else are we to put anything into context? On the other hand, if we can answer all concerns with “but Biden” or “but Trump”, we will never really have to answer for anything. This is why I disagree with the wapo paragraph that pit quoted, as it somewhat shields Biden from any criticism due to the favorable comparison with Trump. While I agree that Trump seems dangerously out of touch with reality, this doesn’t mean that Biden’s mental faculties must be above criticism. We need to permit both absolute judgements and judgements relative to others.
