Isnt NCST on a cws winning streak? Or did they lose the game w/ 12 players before the sec.. i mean ncaa asked them to leave? I know they were 2-0 before it didnt matter.
There’s a video of a comely Oilers fan who shows her enthusiasm by … flashing her high beams. She’s a sensation…
Last week a female fan (of much natural beauty) flashed her appreciation of their play on tic toc as she was cheering for them. To say that she earned a thumbs up would be an understatement.
don't count out FSU even if they lose game one. I believe they came out of the loser's bracket when they won their only CWS title in 2008.
Here's something I noticed during the NCSU-UGAly matchup last night...The announcers were actually really good...no repeated stats over and over, no major fanboy diatribes (ok, maybe a little too much Condon), and no clear bias either way despite it being in UGAly's home field. It would've been nice to be afforded the same luxury during our two games...I get muting the broadcast and matching it up with WRUF, but still to be able to listen to the announcers actually call a decent game was a bit of a surprise...and a treat!
Agree completely. A good announcer is always a big plus. One of the announcers last night was Ben McDonald. He’s the best of the bunch IMHO because he brings so much to the table. Former pitcher both D-1 (LSU) and MLB (Orioles) and he currently calls Orioles games as well. Yes, I’m sure he loves LSU but he’s normally done his homework on the players involved in the game he’s calling to be interesting throughout the game.
Ben McDonald is just a great human being. Yes he loves LSU but he loves the state and the people. The man has invested in so many kids and their families. He has his own clinics and carries kids all over the country helping to develop their game and character. Just a sincere desire to give back and invest in others. I appreciate your comment about his announcing. Your correct he does do his homework and knows the other teams players as well as anyone and he never lets his bias show. Good dude..
I don't let college sports affect me like I used to. Some of that is just aging and changing priorities in life and some of it is due to the changing landscape of college athletics. Then I hear on the radio while on my way home from work this morning that Georgia didn't make the CWS and a genuine feeling of joy set in and I couldn't help but smile. Schadenfreude is real lol...
my bad. May he rest in peace, I thought the Lord of No Rings finally got his ring in 2008. Go Bulldogs!!
I'm pretty sure it was in '89, playing in the SECT in Gainesville, LSU was getting ripped in an elimination game and a Gator fan called to him, "Too bad, we wanted to face you next." From my perspective, I took it as 80% straight compliment, 20% sarcasm. McDonald clearly took it as more of the latter and threw a cup of Gatorade on our group. Even if the remark had been 100% sarcasm, there was no vulgarity or harsh tone. I was POd at him for years and enjoyed schadenfreude when his dad tried to be a hardnosed agent and cost him a big chunk of signing bonus. Now I give him credit for being a decent adult and good color guy.
