We did dominate them, but then again, Texas dominated us 10-0, so I guess there's a little bit of a circular action here. I think it's clear OU and Texas were the two best teams this year, but I also think we were really REALLY close to that level.

Florida should be #2 in the final polls, IMO. They gave Oklahoma a much better battle in the semis than Texas gave them in the finnals.

It's been rumored that Maxwell basically got vet school paid for. Any truth.in that? Seems like more money than most entire teams would get paid, vet school ain't cheap.

Zero chance of that happening. Texas was #1 and will finish 55-10 (five fewer losses than us), not to mention they clobbered us a few days ago 10-0.

    We'll be #3.

Ok st has the only vet program in the state, which is surprisingly affordable in comparison to others, @25k a year. I guess 100k for a natty is reasonable considering what USC gave vawtwr for not winning a regional.

Oklahoma makes history with fourth straight WCWS title

Oklahoma made history by becoming the first NCAA softball team to win four straight national titles after defeating Texas 8-4 in Game 2 of the WCWS championship series.

The Sooners used 12 hits and five pitchers to secure the title. The Sooners' win marks head coach Patty Gasso's eighth national championship.

Congrats to Oklahoma and Sooner Nation!

I boo the Sooners. What is it with Oklahoma? First it was the football team with 47 straight wins under Bud Wilkinson. Now it's four straight softball titles under Gasso.

Monopolies aren't allowed in business, why are they allowed in sports? I propose the following: The NCAA should start using the transfer portal to cull excess talent. ("Where would you like to go? That's where you're going.") The only exception would be the Gators if they ever become dominant.

I KNOW!!! Florida beat Oklahoma soundly and was on the verge of eliminating Oklahoma in Game 2. Texas got blasted by the Sooners twice. It will never happen, but I still think UF should be #2. My opinion. You're welcome to yours.

Underrated and predicted to finish 7th in the the SEC, to finish as one of last three teams standing in the 2024 WCWS, and giving the eventual champions all they could handle, requiring an extra qualifying game that went into extra innings was quite the achievement for these Lady Gators. I could not be more proud of this Team. Go Gators!

I know that you know lol. But I'm afraid this is your heart talking....I don't think you could find an impartial observer anywhere that would agree with that opinion (and I think you know it too:))

In many situations head to head is the final tiebreaker. They slaughtered us. We will end up #3 which is only two worse than what we will end up next year.

I'm curious about softball statistics. (Or what Dizzy Dean in baseball used to call statics.) For pitchers they always show on TV the number of innings pitched, walks and strikeouts. Whatever happened to hits? IMO the number of hits given up in the number of innings is a better indication of how good the pitcher is than walks and strikeouts. But for some reason hits just don't matter anymore? They are never shown.

Not a rumor on the OU pitcher Maxwell. Very true, 4 years of Vet school paid in full at OSU and a nice pick up truck to boot. Hard to turn that down even though she verbally had committed to UF. That kind of enticement is life changing for a 21 year old student. I would have gone to OU also for that! Think of this whenever you stop and spend money at Loves Truck Stops. The lady that owns it is the major benefactor of Maxwell and built the OU stadium. That is why I no longer spend any money at Loves.

Walton should tell his mentor Gasso, "I loves you, but I don't loves your truck stops."
