Yeah, dad said they had past issues and he didn’t like him. Probably over the bullying thing but I’m sure we will hear his full side at some point.
Baraboo police report shines light on why a parent says he pushed the superintendent during graduation

I had been asked above whether my personal experiences influence the way I view these stories. I would say no, it is much more that I am a facts based person, and people always seem to decide the facts without having them. The story almost always eventually comes out in total, but no one ever seems to wait before passing judgment, regardless of the topic. Sign of the times I guess.

I don't see how this helps the father. He went after the only Black person on the stage, and according to the superintendent, he did not interact with the father or child when she was disciplined by the school.

The dad claims a history, so we we will see. Truth is probably somewhere in between, like the SI signed off on the disciplinary actions or was responsible for the policy on whatever the dad was mad about, without them meeting. Or maybe he tried to get the SI to listen and he was ignored. Or yeah, maybe both things are true, he is mad about something legitimate and a still a bad person. Hopefully he will speak at some point.
Funny thing is, if it turns out to be a sob story about all the daughter went through and how the dad was defending her against someone who wouldn’t listen, the guy will end up a hero in many circles.

It is almost impossible for me to conceive of facts where I could approve of what that guy did. He is a horrible person and deserves whatever happens to him and far worse

Not saying it is what happened, but imagine a scenario where the girl was getting picked on, bullied online, maybe even physically attacked, and the school did nothing. Women everywhere in particular would love this guy for caring that much about his daughter and defending her, even if he did it the wrong way.
Kinda like the guy here in Loudoun county who got arrested after disrupting a school board hearing over his daughters alleged rape that they wouldn’t address. He had countless fans.

If he is a racist then... yes.

But if this is the other side of the coin being discussed than he could be a good dude that severely overreacted to what he believes was his daughters mistreatment.

If its the latter, he certainly does not deserve "far worse" .

Do you think "women everywhere" like men using retributive violence against other men to 'defend' a woman's honor? Seems a little bit broad!

This was a graduation ceremony. Dad needed to shut the heck up, stay in his seat, celebrate the moment, and avoid detracting from the moment for the other grads. If he's got a beef with the SI, there are appropriate ways to address it. I don't think your comparison is apt, as a) it involved rape, which is about the most severe crime this side of murder and b) interrupting a SB meeting doesn't detract from the glorious celebration moment of a whole class of kids. I'd give SB Dad more leeway than grad Dad.

You just don't get it man, 'women everywhere' love men acting like jerks and stealing the spotlight if the reasons are right :)

What if Kanye really did think Beyonce had the greatest video of all time and not Taylor Swift? He was just defending her honor!

This doesn't make sense, though. The school officials who disciplined her would also be at the graduation, so why target the Black superintendent who (allegedly) was not directly involved instead of the white principal who punished her directly?

Again, we will hear why eventually. He seems to have a beef, we will find out if it’s legit.

Ah but what if he was both racist and also standing up for his daughter being a "good guy." The racist part just blamed the black guy and acted out on him. :)

Will we though? I definitely wont unless someone cares enough to repost an update to the story, if there ever is one.

But both can be true. He can have a "legit beef" and still be acting in a racist manner.

My line on women digging it was semi tongue in cheek, but women preferring protective men is real. There will be a segment of the population if that turns out to be the case that will not approve of how he did it, but like the idea of a man protecting a female.

I said the same thing above.
But at least now we are talking about options, possibilities, and not just taking the “he’s a racist” conclusion at pure face value. Even if it could still turn out to be true, the story is more nuanced than that.

I'd really like to see their process here. Are we equating vengeful and violent to "protective?" Perhaps divorce is less likely because they also fear a violent vengeful man! Like, there are a number of ways to make women feel safe and protected!

Well the 'both' option would still mean he was racist, you were just arguing he would be a more sympathetic racist.

Just going to note for no particular reason that part of the plot of Birth of a Nation was a 'good' well-intended white guy defending a woman from bad black men (working with bad white men) who mistreated a white woman.

In the post you quoted I was assuming just the “defending daughter” scenario, I didn’t reference racism at all.
As far as women wanting men who are protective, that’s not really controversial idea. I just posted something that was easily readable.
