While I agree with you about Rocha, we have a coach who will take our pitching to the next level. I am glad we have Coach Dobbins.
Chelsey is an excellent pitching coach. I can’t wait to see how our pitchers pitch next season and show all of the hard work.
Keagan improved tremendously between the first month of the season and the last. We know they made some drastic changes to Liv’s delivery, so we don’t really know how that’s going to pan out, and it was likely a bit unreasonable to expect much from her this season. Hoping she stays, and hoping the changes help her next year. Ava gets put in some tough spots occasionally having to move over from first. She had some good outings in relief and a few good starts. She didn’t quite settle in like Keagan did this year I don’t think, but I see quite a bit to be optimistic about in the years to come. How much is coaching and how much is player? Who knows, but if Keagan continues to improve and the other girls come close to making strides like Keagan did this year, I’m going to have give some credit to the coach.
Aubree is laughing her butt off. As has Lauren Haeger and several others the past couple days. They are like, "what....we've been doing this for more than a decade and you are just noticing it now?" And Brooke is clearly playing DW in this lineup = Designated Wedger:
Olivia, Emily, Brooke, Cassidy, Baylee, Alyssa, Avery, Mackenzie.....each and every one of these young women proved what a team can do, beyond most expectations, when they accept their role and are all in on the same boat with both oars in the water and pulling in the same direction. I couldn't be prouder of every women on this team as if they were my own daughter.
Nice! Guess I need to start paying a bit more attention! I'm usually all over the house doing stuff with the game on. So does it go straight from the coach to the device, no more catcher involvement?
You’re allowed so many transmitter/receivers and so many receivers. The catcher can send the signals to the pitcher if she’s wearing a transmitter, but she doesn’t have to put fingers down in between her legs anymore. There’s enough receivers for a few fielders to wear them too. That way they know what pitches are coming and may expect an inside pitch to come pull side or an away pitch to be hit away. They can also signal in defensive plays on these devices. Something like 19 programmable signals or something. You can make them whatever you want them to be.
I am really not sure. I have seen one thing that puts the play on a small lcd screen in the facemask, and I’ve also seen what they’ve been using in the nfl for years now, which is just a headset built into the helmet. I don’t know what we’ll be using. I know the baseball boys also have a headset they can wear in their hat instead of the watch. Would imagine the girls could utilize these as well, but I think all of our pitchers wear a mask now, so they can’t really wear a ballcap, and don’t think they’d want to even without the mask.
When I went to the Caravan with Coach Napier he talked about the communication to the QB and that you only have so much time to relay the play in before it shuts off..I think it is a head set in the helmet
