Texas congressman (at least not Florida man) continues to wear pin honoring service long after army says it was awarded "in mistake". At least his fellow pub house members have the willingness to call this out. I wonder if they would if djt or maga supported him.. House Republicans Blast Rep. Troy Nehls for Wearing Revoked Military Pin (msn.com) House Republicans slammed their colleague Rep. Troy Nehls (R-TX) for continuing to wear a military honor pin that he didn’t earn and demanded that the GOP congressman give it up, NOTUS reported. Nehls, an Army veteran, has worn the Combat Infantryman badge for service in Afghanistan since he joined the House in 2021, but that honor was revoked from his record in March 2023, after it was discovered that the pin had been awarded by mistake. Still, Nehls continues to wear it around the halls of Congress—a move that some of his fellow veterans on Capitol Hill consider an affront. At least eight GOP reps expressed to NOTUS their outright disapproval of Nehls, and many of them said he needed to stop wearing it. “As a former commander, it matters what you wear on your uniform,” Rep. Ryan Zinke (R-MT), a retired Navy SEAL, told NOTUS. “And if you didn’t earn it, you shouldn’t wear it.” Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-TX) was outraged when he heard about Nehls’ decision: “That’s ridiculous. That’s stolen valor.”
Its amusing to me that in a country that is basically built on scams, grifting, making things up, flim-flam and such, this is the one line people think cant be crossed. Ryan Zinke used the government as a personal expense account, but this is going too far for him. LOL. This guys is a moron and a joke and it has nothing to do with his sketchy medal. He is walking maga-nut. He’s currently under investigation by the house ethics committee for rent sham payments to himself. He’s too wacko to make money the normal shady way in politics. As far as his medal it sounds pretty stupid to continue to wear but he probably thinks it was a deep state action that revoked it. He should wear it upside down.
As a reminder, another Texas Congressman claimed to be a Rear Admiral for years, despite having his rank busted down to Captain after it was found out that he was acting unethically as a doctor in the military. He was just put on the Intelligence Committee.
I don’t know what has happened to this country when we investigate someone wearing the faux combat badge. Never mind, it’s just the house ethics committee. He’ll be fine.

How about how we investigated a multi Billionaire for years over how a $130,000 attorney fee was mis characterized in biz records.... but don't bother to investigate how a life time public servant parlayed a 150/ year salary into hundreds of millions dollars of networth (scattered over a labyrinth of LLC's, trusts, n corps in such, in subordinates' names, commission (franchise fees) payable to 'da big guy' aka Pedo Pete)... I first heard the term "stolen valor" in reference to a reguarly seen movie character actor. He talked about his service in Vietnam, when he had never been there, and may have never been in the service at all (I can't remember which). Can't remember his name, I want to say Charles something. Don't know if it ruined his career or he died. He was kind of stocky and played cop type roles. I can't remember which movies he was in. I can't remember a lot lately.
