Its a crap article in which winning solves all the problems. Early in the article it points out 10-23 in the last 33 games vs P5 conference. No where no how is this anything our program should be...even in a rebuild. Change that narrative and articles like this are jokes....create it and youve got to prove it wrong.

SDS is nothing more than a blog basically. Theybare based in Longwood, which is nothing but residential area and typical shopping centers. I wouldn't be surprised if theybare based out of a home...

 

Simply stated there are 3 scenarios going forward:
- UF has a losing season
- UF is around .500 or
- UF wins 8+ games

The guy is writing about the first scenario in a sports publication not aimed at UF fans. He discusses the season and future coaches if that happens. Not sure how an opinion on one possible version of our upcoming season “is BS?” Should he only write about (and fans only talk about) our upcoming 9 win season? Or is that too pessimistic for you and nothing but an undefeated season can be broached? What is “optimistic” enough for you?

If our program is so dainty that an article can hurt it, that is an “us” issue. BN knows it is put up or shut up time. Win and the noise subsides. Lose and it gets louder.

As to such articles, there will always be nattering nabobs of negativity on one side and rainbow chasers on the other, neither of whom frequently contribute much of value to deep analysis, in my opinion. I didn’t find anything of high value in that article, but neither was it unfair or overly critical (Stricklin is tied to the BN hire).

Edit - don’t mean to rain on your parade or contradict your happy opinions. I enjoy the optimism. Just think it takes all kinds and folks have a right to their opinions.

He isn’t saying Napier will get fired or even should.

And we’d be lying to ourselves if we said there is no chance of Napier getting fired. I wouldn’t bet on it at even odds, but it’s certainly possible

 

MEH, nothing to see here. This is just of of many "chaos" articles and if CBN gets fired, then chaos will reslut at UF. No sense in getting your panites in a wad over this article. Personally, I think he has a pass to 2025 regardless of 2024 results. The only way that changes is if SS gets fired first.

 

It's the 2020s. Only thing moving the needle for recruits is money.

 

People who handicap wins/losses for a living unfortunately have been correct in their expectations on Napier, so far. This season they also expect him to under perform. What do they see that we do not? I cannot see only 5 wins. It has to improve. I am optimistic we win 5 of our first 7.

So I agree, win and it disappears. A 7+ win season and rival staffs will not be able to effectively use the staff's performance against us. But if we win 6 or fewer, it's just more plausible even to 18 year olds that no amount of talent is going to rescue the program. Hope the staff has it together this season.

If you can find a “hot-seat list” without Billy Napier’s name on it, that would be news.

And if it’s the same Gators of the past 3 seasons? All signs point to chaos.

I get that SDS is a dumb outlet but to claim that we must keep our comments positive is some weird speech control. People are entitled to their opinions and thoughts on Billy - positive or negative.

 

Some people seem emotionally invested in CBN failing. They would gladly see the Gators go down in flames just to be proven right.
