    was cohen unfairly targeted by the djt doj when he was convicted of crimes related to the stormy payoff?

    do you think the payments to Cohen, who took out a HEL to pay stormy after Pecker wouldn't buy any more stories, were for legal fees even though he did no legal work for djt?

    I see you're off in La La land again. OJ was acquitted in the criminal case due to 2 words:

    Your rank speculation is simply wrong. Any jury that was able to understand their instructions and properly apply the law to the facts would have convicted him. The evidence was overwhelming.

    The theory of the prosecution was not particularly complex...it required a plain reading of the NY code. As I pointed out in another thread, Florida's burglary statute raises extremely similar issues. It is only complicated if you don't try to understand it.

    So you don’t think falsifying business records and using hush money payments for the purpose of benefiting a campaign is illegal?

    No, I don’t think the “hush money” payments were campaign expenditures.

    In other words, I think at most this was a misdemeanor barred by the statute of limitations.

    It took absurd legal gymnastics to both turn this into a felony and yield a conviction.

    Noted, and we feel your pain at the great injustice that your criminal finally faced.....justice.

    BTW, how do you feel about, say, the election interference case? You know, the one where he enacted a criminal conspiracy which included false elector slates, coercing state officials and his VP, and encouraging an attack on the US government.

    It’s not like those two things are mutually exclusive. The convictions likely do provide a small boost, based on what we saw poll numbers do each time he was indicted. But at the same time, if he’s been convicted for something most states don’t even bother to pursue, the SCOTUS should probably step in to create some immunity for presidents that preclude them from state prosecutions.

    The bottom line is don’t come on here crying when the appeals court overturns the convictions. Several legal experts are indicating this case has a lot of exposure in an appeal. And also the SCOTUS stepping in is probably the best thing that can be done to help heal the country.

    To prevent harm to his reputation, to protect his ego, take your pick.

    Even if the clock stopped while he was POTUS, he hasn’t been POTUS since 2021… we’re in 2024.

    How many people in New York get charged for a crime that’s typically a misdemeanor a decade after the fact? And even if they were just waiting for him to get out of office, why did they wait until election season to charge him for a case that’s this old?

    Everyone knows the answer to that question, it’s just not everybody is honest enough to admit it publicly.

    Bragg put the case on hold to process Weinstein first and get info from that prosecution. When you only get one shot, you make sure it is your best shot.

    He had like 8 years.

    Bragg, a Soros funded DA, campaigned on “getting Trump.” He targeted Trump a decade after the fact. The charges “happened” to coincide with election season.

    This is exactly what it looks like, plain and simple.

    He campaigned on going after white collar crime. Djt is one of 150+ business fraud cases they have prosecuted. Did you know that?

    How many “falsification of business records cases” were turned into felonies?

    How many required a hook to an unspecified federal crime?

    How many required 8 years to prosecute?

    How many involved names that he specifically mentioned that he wanted to target before he got the office?

    So, you at least admit he is a criminal, you just think it unfair for him to be prosecuted because he is "Dear Leader"?

    It is really weird how people are spinning this based solely on political talking points and ZERO facts. My in-laws are in commercial real estate in S Florida, and have known Trump was a criminal for 30+ years. Yet, as soon as he was prosecuted for a small fraction of his numerous crimes, they all cried foul and read me the Republican talking points verbatim. I have told my wife that if one single person in her family turns the American flag upside down, I will never set foot in their home again.

    Why don't you narrow it down a little more? How many involved djt and a pornstar and the national enquirer? That should get the answer you want

    Few, but much of that had to do with the 4 years in which the subject of this investigation was President.
