So much of what he was told to do doesn't make sense, but I can how someone who doesn't deal with these things all the time could get sucked in. Clever scam.
Exactly, those damn millenial police prefer texting, Insta or Snapchat - they NEVER want to talk on the phone.
My default setting for any unsolicited phone call is they are trying to sell me something or it’s a scam. I never pick up. If it’s important, they will leave a message. If they call more than 2-3 times with no message, they get blocked.
I got a call last week from an Indian dude with thickest accent ever. He said "Hello. This is Officer Smith." It caught me so off guard that I literally laughed out loud right into this guy's earhole and managed to get out the most incredulous "Is it now?" between laughs. He immediately hung up.
