To be clear, President Donald Trump will vote in the Free State of Florida: DeSantis: 'Trump Hasn't Lost His Voting Rights in Florida' (breitbart.com) Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) clarified on Friday that former President Donald Trump still has the right to vote in Florida elections despite a Manhattan jury finding him guilty on 34 counts that District Attorney Alvin Bragg has asserted are felonies. “Former President Donald Trump hasn’t lost his voting rights in Florida. Rights are not removed in Florida where they haven’t yet been stripped in the convicting jurisdiction,” DeSantis explained in a post on X. “That said, given the absurd nature of the New York prosecution of Trump, this would be an easy case to qualify for restoration of rights per the Florida Clemency Board, which I chair,” DeSantis added. “The bottom line is that Donald Trump’s vote this November will be one of millions that demonstrate Florida is now a solid Republican state!” the governor concluded in his post.

LOL, DeSantis needs to read the damn law. Florida prohibits restoration of civil rights to anyone who has pending criminal charges. Florida also requires completion of sentence prior to restoration of civil rights. DeSantis continues to embarrass. “Former President Donald Trump hasn’t lost his voting rights in Florida. Rights are not removed in Florida where they haven’t yet been stripped in the convicting jurisdiction,” DeSantis explained in a post on X. He's correct about this part...as of today.
I agree that he will vote in November thanks to a governor and political party that have been programmed to kowtow him no matter what.
I don't care what Trump does on November 5 or today or tomorrow. The Republican Party has gone to sh*t and it looks like it will take the country with it.
Ok he can vote. Not sure that factoid is worthy of another thread, but appears the rights of felons is getting attention. So as a convicted felon can Dear Leader (who also still owes millions of dollars for sexual assault) have a gun? Can he leave the country? Can he associate with other criminals? Will his felony status be a consideration in his other crimes?
@ETGator1 is right. The Florida GOP needs to stop fighting the ability for convicted felons to earn back their right to vote
Has DeSantis said whether he he still takes the position that he will refuse to extradite if it came to that?
And the election will be rigged unless Trump wins. And look at it logically. If Biden stole the last election without even being in power, why would he not steal this one now that he's in power? But I guess Trump gave us the answer in his eloquent post-conviction comments. Biden is "the dumbest president in the history of the United States."
He didn't sic his election cops on any of the Villages criminals who committed voter fraud either. It is almost like his election cops are about suppressing votes from likely democrats rather than applying the law to everyone equally. Too bad there isn't a party that believes in conservativism. One of the foundational principles of conservatism is rule of law, and the Republicans clearly don't believe in rule of law.
Well of course. DeSantis is fine with allowing rich white felons to vote. It's just the poor black felons that he won't allow to vote.
