All 34 counts will be overturned on appeal. It is the democrats that are destroying democracy. This was a Soviet style kangaroo court.

How did a state DA bring a criminal action on a federal law? What would you say if a DA in Alabama brought a criminal indictment against Joe Biden for violating the Mann Act by aiding and abetting the transportation of women across state lines for illicit purposes? You would say you can't because state DA cannot prosecute federal crimes. And you'ld be right. It would not surprise me if the Supreme Court granted an emergency writ of certiorari to squash this conviction.
How did the same judge preside over 3 Trump related cases when he is not even in the 24 judge rotation for that county? That is a statistical impossibility.
How can it be that a defendant does not know the basis of the action against him until AFTER the presentation of witnesses?
How can a trial begin without the disclosure of witnesses and evidence to the defense?
How come the man who was 3rd at the Department of Justice left that position to become an assistant DA for the Trump trial. Why, when the Dept of Justice and the NY DA previously skipped prosecuting Trump based upon it not being a crime, as did this DA, only to bring an action once Trump became a candidate? A gag order on only Trump? Sounds like Biden administration collusion to me.

The US has lost the moral high ground in complaining about any other judicial system. Just like the Dems regretted making judicial appointments a majority vote instead of 60% (boy did they bitch when Trump used this against them to get his nominees appointed) they will regret creating the precedent of allowing state DAs the right to prosecute federal office holders in state court for federal offenses.

Everything the Dems complained Trump would do in his first term (destroy democracy and start WW3) Biden is doing in his term. Weaponizing federal agencies to attack and censor opposition candidates is destroying America's faith in its institutions.

This result will cinch Trump's reelection. Thanks for the boost Dems!

No. And I didnt accuse him of such.

But many of us on both sides already know how this will go.

He will pound a pulpit about how right he is. (Check)

He will make misinformed posts. (Check)

    He will leave.

(2 or 3 are already completed btw).

So I am just pointing it out from the start to set the playing field straight.

He didnt just jump into the existing conversations. He needed to start his own bullet pointed thread taking direct shots at all conservatives. Not just a small percentage, but a vague all encompassing shot.

It annoys me and if he is going to do it. I will counter, as have some not so conservative posters in this thread now also.

    Those who know, know.

I am not saying I would cheer or celebrate his death. I would not, but Christians are stuck between a rock and a hard place with him as the Republican nominee. I don't think any Christian can say that Trump would be their first choice as a candidate. I, personally, do not buy the idea that 3rd party candidates are viable either. That is fiction novel stuff. They are not. They cannot win. It would be a good thing for the country for that slot to open back up so it is not weighed down by Trump's personal baggage.

The Republican platform is very much consistent with a Christian worldview, despite what Soros and Rockefeller bankrolled Christians like Russell Moore and David French would say. We just need a better candidate representing that platform, and Trump is not it.

I am interested in this. Could you please provide the case law in New York that will be utilized and how it relates to the facts in this case?

The law violated, Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree is a state law. There were 34 counts of violating the same law. It is a New York State law.

Based on what specific legal question?

I am interested in your thoughts on the assignment of judges in New York County. Please go over the general routine and how Merchan was assigned.

That is not true. He was officially informed of the crimes when he was indicted and arraigned.

    This is not true.

He did not. He left to lead the White Collar group for the New York DA office.

You can easily read why there was a gag order.

No argument here during normal times

The issue is the traditional "platform" doesnt exist.

The "platform" is Trump. And that is a million miles from Reagan, GHWB, Dubya, Romney, McCain or Dole or any other recent nominee. They ran on a conservative republican platform in theory at least

Trump is the platform. It runs on his blood and beats with his heart.

    Its a scary thing really.

Yep the current gop platform is whatever Trump says it is, subject to change without notice on a whim. Instead they should put forth actual policy positions based on the principles they claim to stand for, rather than this abysmal cult of personality. Not going to hold my breath.

    100% agree.

America is more traditionally (moderately) conservative on a lot of things than many on the extremes want to admit.

I strongly disagree with the statement "Trump is the platform." Trump's personal life is not the platform. That is not his political agenda while he is in office. Trump deferred quite a bit to his advisors while he was in office, and that is why pre-COVID he did a good job as POTUS. I don't think the people Trump has appointed in the past or would appoint this time around are different than the people Ron DeSantis, Tim Scott, Ted Cruz, etc would appoint. He appointed judges based on the recommendations of the Federalist Society for example. At the end of the day Trump deferred to people squarely in the camp of the Republican party that he himself appointed. The 100s of people someone appoints to political office are very much a reflection of what the platform is. They are the ones who execute the platform and/or advise him on how the platform is to be executed.

What Trump is is the PR head of the platform. That does not dismiss that he's terribly divisive and carries a bunch of personal baggage with him, but the MSM and the DNC want this to be all about him while the actual performance of the job is irrelevant. Think about it. Biden has us on the verge of WWIII, and that is irrelevant. The Democrats harm children on a scale Trump could not even dream of. They are trying to trans our kids and commit genocide against the unborn, but that is irrelevant. The only thing that is relevant is Trump. That shows you how good the DNC and MSM are at propaganda and shaping the narrative.

What’s being reported so far is that he’s a resident of Florida, and that law doesn’t care where you get convicted - they don’t let felons vote (thank DeSantis).

Now you are repeating the intentional untrue statement.

NOBODY has posted a million times that Trump is a convicted felon. Because before yesterday, he wasn’t. So you told a lie. Would you like to take it back now?

Even Biden voters like Alan Dershowitz are coming out and saying how shameful and corrupt the result of this course case is. That tells you all you need to know.

It’s so weird to hear someone talk about the GOP as if they are real people.

Can republicans local voters unite behind someone else? Huh? All they require is ANYONE else. They don’t care who it is, or what they’ve done. They got behind Dan Quayle, George W, Sarah Palin and Donald Trump. Their only requirement is they claim to be republicans. I say “claim to be” because Trump is a lifetime pro-choice Democrat, and he just lied and said he was a pro-forced-birth Republican, and none of them cared. All they require is a name. Have name? Get vote.
