Earnest Graham Clears Air on 'Disconnect' with Florida Gators Sounds like all is smoothed over and he’s a fan of our new defensive coach.
Still wondering what kind of back surgery he had. I’ve heard it was minor, but I don’t know if there’s such thing as minor back surgery.
Another Gator Legend in the making, IMO. I am excited about watching his future career trajectory. He's got everything necessary: natural ability, a good family, a good work ethic.
I think Napier made that comment a while back, around the time of the surgery. Not sure how much we can read into that.
There's dozens of minimally invasive back surgeries with minimal recovery times. I have no idea what Graham had done, but there's definitely some relatively minor back surgeries.
And many that used to be destructive to tissue much less so now. Even if only minor and full recovery expected, I could see why they choose a longer wait time before he begins full practice.
Yes there is such a thing called minor back/spine surgery. I know this because I had two major neck surgeries in the past 14 years. Major spine surgery is usually the fusion of two or more vertebra. This by itself a complicated procedure that requires the removal of bone spurs, the herniated discs, the installing of the hardware and the donor bone. Recently, using the new artificial discs can be done instead of the fusion. This new method is still major surgery. The process can take an hour to several hours. Recovery is at least two months just to get back to work and two or more months to regain mobility. Minor spine surgery is usually the removal of bone spurs and the trimming of the herniated discs. The incisions are smaller and the process is not as invasive. Recovery time is 2 to 6 weeks.
The follow info is a quote from EG in the article: "“In the moment, I was being a dad. I had my opinion about the situation like everyone else. Listen, I’m 100% a diehard Gator, and I love where the program is at right now.” This says it all!
I’m sure there are but when you’re a football player and your body takes that kind of abuse, it’s always something to worry about
Between Graham and Lagway, we have great leaders on and off the field on both sides of the ball. Future looks bright.
