The U.S. didn't need Article 5 to attack those responsible for 9/11. I would argue the assistance received by NATO after 9/11 was negligible at best. After all the money we've dumped on NATO it was the least they could do. I would've rather not wasted all that money on NATO.

I will also remind you that NATO as a whole, not the U.S., invoked Article 5. So incorrect (most likely intentional) wording on your part.

Yeah a real shame that nato and our involvement played a role in winning the cold war. When are you moving to moscow?

Too cold. Costa Rica would be more my preference. Beautiful beaches and mountains, friendly culture and beautiful women.

What money? Be specific. What money have we spent on NATO?

You can research it yourself. Not my responsible to feed you validating for every comment I make. The proof is there. Everyone knows NATO is financed for the most part by the U.S.

But on the other hand I'll be nice and give you a bone. It is widely estimated that the U.S. funds 70 percent of NATO. The U.S. funds far more of NATO than every other NATO country alive. No wonder Europe has so much extra money around for infrastructure.

I just said it's widely estimated to be at 70 percent.

    Are there dead NATO countries?

Regardless, the US funds 15.8813% of NATO's budget in reality.

There has never been unity. Our founding fathers, the Continental Congress, etc., were very tribal and mostly hated each other.

But there will be relative unity again, and pretty soon. You MAGA people don’t get it, and you never will, because you'll all be gone or in dementia when it happens. What you don’t get is that you are the problem. The far left, the left, the independents and the moderate right all have a ton of commonalities, and all of us have very little to nothing in common with far-right MAGAs.

The only reason Trump gets so many votes is that politics is so tribal. Republicans will literally vote for anyone in their party. Trump certainly proved that. The problem isn’t that there’s 2 divided parties - it’s that the GOP has become the QOP. They have followed Trump down the fascist con man rabbit hole. They threw in with a Russian asset because they are so craven for power - they’d rather kill America than lose power for a few years.

At one point all we needed was for Trump to be removed and the GOP would return to “normal”. Which is awful, but it’s never been a literal Kremlin propaganda arm and ally like it is now. But they screwed up. They rode the monster for too long, and now the monster controls them, and they are neither strong enough nor smart enough to excise the tumor.

Trump will destroy the Republican party, if he hasn’t already. The GOP hasn’t won anything since 2016 because of Trump (except for the last midterms, but that was a virtual loss because it was supposed to be a 30-seat House takeover and reclaiming the Senate, and they only took the House by a few seats and lost a seat in the Senate). Even in the reddest states and districts, Dems have won and Dem initiatives have won by landslides. And it’s just going to get worse when you are nominating a convicted felon 34-times over.

Oh, and what I said about unity coming back. The younger generations (post-Gen-X) are the first US generations that are getting more liberal as they get older. This isn’t a whim. This is the survival instinct of the human race. The pendulum is going to swing so far to the left, and then land somewhere on the left side of what was traditionally moderate. Because that’s where human decency resides.

One of the reasons that far ringers are so violent and so angry now, is they know their time is over. They are the last generation to have power in this world for white supremacy, Xenophobia, Homophobia and misogyny. You can bark all you want about your revolution, but all it is is the death rattle of a backwards and failed culture.

The only reason Trump won’t do jail time is that he’ll die before he exhausts his appeals.

Thats his real sentence; his real prison: spending the rest of his life in humiliation and misery, running for his life on the legal hamster wheel, paying every penny he can grift off his rubes, trying to pay lawyers enough k keep him one step ahead of prison.

The way he’s looked the last few weeks, I only give him about a 50% chance of living long enough to see the 2024 election. His dementia is taking over at an alarming rate, he barely has the energy to mumble out his “witch hunt” rhetoric each day, and he is looking gaunt and ghastly pale like the crypt keeper. He will never have another moment of life that isn’t drowning in stress and pressure. He can’t hold up under this much longer.

This is what all conspiracy theorists say. They never give any proof or even explanation for any of the nonsense that they spew. They tell you they’re not your secretary, do your own research, blah blah blah. Because they can’t say or do anything to support literally anything they say.

An expression is coming to mind for me. A true favorite among the MAGA crowd, one that they've been saying for years. How does it go again?

Oh yeah. Something about "your feelings." There's a word in there at the beginning I'm missing.....I think it starts with the letter 'F'.

Well that's how I feel about your feelings. Weird how that comes around to bite you, isn't it.

Diversity and democracy aren't compatible. The greater the diversity the more authoritarian the governance must be to keep the peace.

The happiest countries in the world are those that have the highest percent of white people. Liberals want to make whites a minority in the US Are they mentally ill? Did a parasitic mind virus eat their brains?

That could be the most factually incorrect thing I've ever read on this board. And that's saying a lot.
