Note to @ETGator1, if you think the possibility of crops rotting in the fields is funny this is what happened in Georgia when the state decided to crack down on illegals over a decade ago.
Crackdown on illegal immigrants left crops rotting in Georgia fields, ag chief tells US lawmakers
    And in Alabama, too.

Biden beat Trump to the punch with new tariffs toda. Are you as upset?

    WashingtonCNN —
President Joe Biden is increasing tariffs on $18 billion in Chinese imports across a handful of sectors deemed strategic to national security – an attempt to cripple Beijing’s development of critical technologies and instead prioritize US production.

The increases will apply to imported steel and aluminum, legacy semiconductors, electric vehicles, battery components, critical minerals, solar cells, cranes and medical products. The new tariff rates – which range from 100% on electric vehicles, to 50% for solar components, to 25% for all other sectors – will take place over the next two years.”

Thank Joe for new Tariffs on China.

I guess he doesn’t think they are bad now.

While I'm not sure Biden's tariffs can be justified economically, they're targeted at specific sectors, primarily those related to clean energy and renewables. Trump's proposals are far more comprehensive.

I got it Trump tariffs bad, Biden tariffs good.

    Your partisanship is showing.

BTW has Biden gotten rid of Trump’s inflation causing tariffs?

Steel and Aluminum goes in just about everything.
Big hit to the renewable areas too.
Wasn’t it Trump a few weeks ago bashing against China regarding their EV plays sounds like Biden agrees with him here too.

Has Biden gotten rid of all those terrible tariffs Trump put in before? Guess he is cool with them after all.

You're pretty testy tonight. I guess you must be butthurt from today's news. Not all of Trump's tariffs were bad. But he placed tariffs on many nations, not just China. I believe most of Trump's tariffs on Europe, Canada, Mexico, et al, have been removed under Biden. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

Not butthurt about Trump’s legal issues.

like I said many many times wish the guy would just go away.

Annoyed about how terrible Tariffs were under Trump, how they lead to more inflation, and being a tax on Americans yet when Biden does the same thing there’s just crickets.

You're annoyed NOW. Now that you want to complain about Biden. When Trump actually did his economic buffoonery, all we heard from you was.....crickets.

Similar to his egregious, un-American crimes. Crickets.

No genius it’s annoying how when the former POTUS was enacting tariffs the anti-right was screaming about how bad they were, annoyed that in this very thread a poster talked about how bad new “Trump” tariffs would be yet the very day of the post Biden enacts a pile of new tariffs and there is barely a whiff of criticism. Instead it’s “well Trump’s” plan would be worse.

Some of you guys are so tribal it’s ridiculous.

    That’s annoying.

Tariffs are generally bad, regardless of which party is pushing them.

Yes, Trump's plan would be worse. And I'll ask again. Has Biden added or increased tariffs on our allies in Europe and Canada as Trump did?

    So let's see;

You sat and watched while Trump enacted tariffs, which had to be subsidized by massive federal giveaways to the domestic farming industry. And as Trump ran up the deficit with fiscal stimulus in a good economy; deficit-funded tax cuts for corporations and the rich. And you didn't say a word.

But now not only have you become rilly rilly anti tariff and (presumably) anti deficit, but you also want to criticize Biden supporters as hypocrites for................... doing exactly what you did ?!

Are you like a parody of yourself? We couldn't make this stuff up.

You are so tribal it’s ridiculous.

    That’s annoying.

    Genius.

Oh, also; Biden could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and I wouldn't really care. At least not that much. I may vote third party if he were an obvious criminal. Maybe like....if he committed the most obscenely un-American crime of in modern US history - a criminal conspiracy to overturn an election.

But I'd probably still vote for the party -criminal organization, that is- that enabled and supported his crimes.

Does that seem really bad to you, my hypothetical behavior? Does it offend you, in it's hypothetical existence?

Well that is exactly what YOU do, but in REALITY. As do other voters for the Trumppublican criminal organization. So spare us all the sanctimonious false accusations of hypocrisy. Unless you're telling them to a mirror, in which they are REAL accusations.

Yes, generally, but China has been caught both dumping and subsidizing its industries. Most recently it was hit by both anti-dumping (selling into the US for lower than it sells within China) and countervailing duties (subsidized products) in its aluminum extrusions by up to 180% in tariffs. They’re doing similar things with their EVs.
