What in the heck is going on at Washington? They have three players left on the roster after the rest hit the portal. Plus Victoria Hayward, an elite level alum who joined the coaching staff for this past season, has already left to take a head coaching job at Nevada, of all places. I seriously wonder if Tarr has indicated privately that she is leaving or retiring. Good chance she wants no part of destroying her program by joining the Big Ten. If not that, what? edit: discussion in the Seattle Times. No one is willing to explain UW softball’s 7-player exodus

Agreed. Win the first two and somebody has to beat us twice to keep the Gators from going to the championship series. The losers' bracket is a bitch.

 

I think it has happened three timed that the looser of game one wins the WCWS.

 

I always thought the looser team plays better. The team wound too tight tend to lose.

And Kendra is the best fielding Outfielder in Softball. She doesn't get the hype as others make diving catches but Kendra gets there so quickly that she makes the same catch look routine. A Gold Glove is well deserved and so was at a minimum 2nd team AA.

 

I was reading an ESPN article today written in March asking supposed experts Scarborogh, Smith, & Shipman who would make the WCWS, sleeper teams that might make the WCWS yada yada yada. Florida, Wallace, Rothrock, Erickson, Otis, or Falby were never mentioned. Guess what, they certainly will be mentioned tonight. These ladies have given us one hell of a fun and exciting ride. They have achieved way beyond expectations. I wish them luck win or loose and hope they have a fun time in Oklahoma City. They certainly deserve it.

 

Regardless of how they perform in this years WCWS, this will be the ‘floor’ of expectations for this team for the next 3-4 years. Imagine the pressure they will face should they actually manage to WIN this years title.Wow. I wouldn’t want to have to carry that burden. So ladies, just go out there, lay it on the line, have fun, and see what the results produce ! Go Gator Girls.

 

Kinda on topic.... anyone get a check from FloSports? I'd sign-up for one month each year then cancel so I could watch the Mary Nutter Classic in the Spring.
