LOL Better bring a "paper fan" lol Wanne if it works out and we both go, I hope I might have a chance to say hello. I will bring a flask......lol Be well P-Cola Gator!
But this year you have the expanded SEC & BIG… we won’t have as many undefeated or 1 loss teams in the field. I think it’s more likely we’ll see 2 or 3 9-win teams in the playoffs than none.
Venison is my favorite! If Spurrier predicted 8 wins before Badger, how does the acquisition of Badger affect the record? Some prognosticators think Badger could result in two extra wins. Hmmm?
This is certainly true. Then again, our football team has lost 25 games over the past four years. Gator fans have reason to be skeptical.
That was after the playoffs and bowl games. At end of the regular season rankings for 9-12 had a 10-2 record. Also the 12th team ( Oklahoma 10-2) would have been left out for the top G5 school (Liberty 13-0) So this season 2024, it's really the top 11 teams plus the top G5 school. 5 spots for conference champions (SEC, B10, B12, ACC, G5) and 7 at large.
It is normally clear when a staff's mistakes cost their team a game(s). There is nothing knee jerk about the lack of product we have seen. At times we have looked unprepared, as in what in the world are you doing at practice? Think of the miami loss last season to Ga Tech when should have taken a knee. Cristobal took so much heat for that and he deserved it. Not sure what baffling gaffes Shart is guilty of but here is his record. Kirby Smart College Coaching Records, Awards and Leaderboards | College Football at Sports-Reference.com Yes, Kirby inherited a lot of talent, but did Deboer at Washington? Good staffs win with and without great rosters. How much of a handicap do you give Napier? There is also the truth that. perception is reality. A coach might not be "an idiot" but can certainly cause himself to be perceived as lacking vision and comprehension about winning, which is damaging. The easy part was getting administration to buy into the foundational renovations but administration was also looking in the rear view at four mediocre hires and tenures- failures. Do we have to win 10 games? No. But anything less than 7 at this point would be a disappointment.
Yep, pretty tall order. If we could even finish with 4 losses it would show a significant amount of improvement.
Because when we get talented acquisitions, we expect them to be difference makers, as opposed to other teams whom we expect their acquisitions to be busts...
Adding more depth: 1) SEC champ 2) SEC runner up at large 3) B10 champ 4) B10 runner up at large 5) ACC champ 6) B12 champ 7) G5 highest ranked team That leaves 5 spots 8) Notre Dame if they have a good season they get a guaranteed spot That leaves 4 spots for at large teams Most likely 9) a 3rd SEC team 10) a 3rd B10 team 11 and 12) any combination of P4 teams
You have a pretty short or selective memory. Smart's decision to try a trick 4th down and long play at midfield with his 5 star unused qb was rightly pilloried more around college football than anything that has happened on UF's ST in the past two years.
Okay, that play was a mess. I remember feeling bad for Fields. So that cancels out the triple reverse double halfback end around triple option pass called vs Georgia last season.
In 2018, Mullen’s first year, UF, UGA, KY and LSU were all 3 loss teams that finished in the top 12. Prior to the bowl games UF, UGA and LSU would have been playoff teams. But again, comparing this season vs the past is pointless. The 2 most competitive conferences have grown a lot stronger due to expansion. 9-3 teams are going to get in …and it won’t be an outlier.
