He's actually been exceptionally patient with Trump. A lot of criminal defendants would have been thrown in jail if they behaved the way Trump did. But I can see how you'd mistake privilege for oppression when you believe the people you like aren't bound by the law.
You obviously don't hold a position where duty trumps spouse. Would you hide behind your wife under similar circumstances? That's calls for a yes or no answer.
Even if your wife did it, I dont know what kind of man would throw their wife under the bus publicly instead of taking the blame themselves
My wife does not by any means live under my thumb, but if there was a similar such situation where she was doing something or posted something on social media that could jeopardize my career or credibility, she'd have it rectified immediately if I talked to her. The explanation is just not at all believable, and besides for those who think people on the left are being hypocritical, how do you think this would be playing out in right-wing media if the situation was reversed? If a liberal justice flew the flag upside down, for ANY reason, let alone a connection to a conspiracy that threatens our democracy, there would be unrelenting calls for that justice to resign simply for hating or disrespecting America.
Until Trump became President, no doubt. How dare they demand him and others to follow the law! Now you only trust Trump. Sad, man.
He has made some interesting and intelligent posts. He probably shouldn't have waded into an area he knows nothing about.
Everything is a conspiracy and the only way your orange god gets a fair trial is at a maga rally? None of this works that way.
No doubt the most investigated person in the history of the planet and after almost a decade of investigations nothing has stuck. Go figure.
You’re asking two different questions. I presume in the first question you’re asking would I always put duty above spouse. Offhand I can’t think of any time that I’ve had to do that. I think it would have to do with what exactly the duty is. I have a civic duty to obey traffic laws, but if my wife had a medical emergency I would break the speed limit and run some red lights to get her to the hospital. On the other hand, if I had access to secret information of the government then I would honor that duty foremost. For your second question, I’m not sure what you mean by hide behind my wife in similar circumstances. If our wives did something, are you saying we should lie and take the blame? If I was to blame or if I shared blame then yes, I would stand up and take it.
You've been asked to explain your claim that Marchan is railroading Trump. Do you have any evidence of that you can substantiate your claim with? Or was that just a Trumpy talking point you were mindlessly repeating, and now you'll scurry away from that claim?
Alito's wife displayed a Trump friendly flag. Rather than take it down, in which case it wouldn't have been an issue, Alito left it up then said it was his wife's doing. That's the lack of honor and attempt to avoid the appearance of impropriety.
Didn’t Cohen go to jail as a non-violent first time offender? Plus half of Trumps inner circle he pardoned?
No. I was responding to what appeared to be a legal principal espoused by a poster. Without any explanation, it did not make any sense. @tampagtr then gave an explanation which I now understand. So now it does make sense. That’s all.
