I do. Sports were an important part of my childhood. I imagine I'm not the only kid who benefitted from participating.
Why are there weight categories in wresting? Why are there weight categories in boxing ? Why are there age AND weight categories in every single youth sport ? Why can a child play up in youth sports but they cannot play down ? Why is it that nobody/ almost nobody has any issue with bio women competing against men? All those answers are straightforward and logical with a long history of precedent….with nearly unanimous agreement. Nobody is saying bio males of whichever gender they choose can’t compete, just saying they can’t compete again bio females for all the same reasons above.
in the Wash St & Oregon HS girls track meet, all the kid has to do is “notify the student’s school of their gender identity”. No medical changes or confirmation reqmts (which imo is still a separate issue at all levels, but not for this case). So sounds like we agree that in HS sports the trans girl should not compete against biological girls. and in my world we also don’t punish a group of kids and squash their dreams competing at a known disadvantage.
