Oh you are on the side of the isle that is pretty much allowed to say anything without being edited or banned. Try posting some of your posts from the right, I guarantee you would be edited all the time.
lol. I got edited as I responded to another poster last week as I said above. I just didn’t complain about it. Rules are rules and I don’t melt easy.
Golf star Scottie Scheffler will have his charges dropped following his arrest for assaulting a police officer earlier this month, a Louisville, Kentucky TV journalist reports. Mr Scheffler was arrested on 17 May. He faced a felony assault charge, as well as misdemeanor charges of criminal mischief, reckless driving and disregarding signals from an officer directing traffic. Scottie Scheffler to have charges dropped after arrest for disobeying cops: report
Yet another blow to the notion of "comply and you wont have a problem" with the cops (I would advise being wealthy and/or famous to pull this version off though)
Have to agree with this one. That said...most cops are on the good side and complying results in no problems almost every time. But I agree with the notion that if this were not someone with wealth it could have been a tragic ending for someone. This cop needs to be let go. They do not even deserve a desk job imo.
They have been given a hero's burial, with ceremonial honor guard, 21 gun salute, bagpipes and all that
It would be interesting. It would also have been nice to see how those pants got ruined with the bodycam. If ruined. I have $20 the cop grabbed Scheffler's car unnecessarily and inflicted the damage himself. But that is just speculation. I have a hard time believing Scheffler with where he is in his career and what he is doing right now would be anything but compliant to an officers order to get in to the golf club that morning.
Dirty ass cops threw a bunch of bullshit charges against the wall, knowing damn well he didn't do anything wrong. Better luck next time, coppers LOL
The detective should be arrested for false imprisonment and filing a false report. Cops can’t back off of a lie once they tell it. nothing better than a cop when you actually need one but honestly how often do you need one.
Turns out that Det Gillis has a bit of a history. Louisville police officer who arrested Scottie Scheffler had been previously suspended
My problem with just letting it go is what if it was just an Average Joe who got all those charges thrown at him. Would likely be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and convicted. This cop should be severely disciplined, at minimum.
Overall, Scheffler handled the situation very well after the encounter IMO. However, in the audio, he first said he didn't know it was a cop at first and thought it was a security guard. The cop pointed out that they were all wearing the yellow jackets and then pressed Scheffler on why it would it have mattered if the man was a security guard. Scheffler then admitted that he was impatient and should have stopped. Scheffler's attorney pointed out after the charges are dropped that this was a good example of why people shouldn't talk to the police. I feel like his admission alone probably would have supported a traffic citation (I don't know if he got one or not).
