We last, and perhaps only time, played Nebraska in 2005 on Sunday night at the Blatt! Beat them 7-4 with Boss and O'day sharing the mound. 500 Gator fans in the stadium--perhaps! It was several seas of red!!
But a very winnable game. Comes down to coaching honestly if: Sully can fire the team up select the right pitcher to pitch the first game, and we execute we should win the first game. do we fight every at bat or just try to hit home runs? Coastal this is actually a winnable bracket BUT Big IFS but we play great teams routinely. Nebraska is a good but not great team.

OMG we got in!!! And a very winnable regional, and also paired with a winnable SR! This feels like Christmas morning!! Go Gators!!!
Third worst record in the field behind Oral Roberts and Grambling, teams I'm presuming won their conference championships. How does UF stand compared to last team left out of the field? I am happy the selection committee didn't give up on the Gators, but I have to admit that I did.
Not sure who committe had at 65,but I had CoC. 41 rpi, 41-14, 21-5.. why even suit up if thats not good enough??
ET— My interpretation of the comments made about selecting the Gators by the selection show was their strength of schedule (both conference and non-conference) was the deciding factor.
Not to temper the optimism, but the Nebraska ace was big 10 pitcher of the year and has some pretty impressive stats.9-0, era of 2.00 and a whip under 1. Gave up less than 1 HR per 9 innings.
Not that it will ever get thru to you....but here are the composite stats for the last 3 starts vs UT, UK, and UGA, all national seeds Pitcher 1- 15.1 innings, 11 hits, 9 free bases, 4 ER, 17 k Pitcher 2- 13.2 innings, 11 hits, 13 free bases, 10 ER, 10k Which pitcher do you start based upon a sample size from the last month vs the best competition in the country?
