So many UW players in the portal, assistants leaving, shifting to the big 10. Auburn gets a good coach that program comes alive. They have the recruiting, money, and stability.
Not saying it would be a bad hire. But UW has dropped off a touch recently. And why are all these players leaving? conf change or something else?? no idea Also AU puts culture/fit higher on priority list than most.. Tarr has been in Wash entire life.. like mentioned above..culture shock. Last time AU didnt do this was Bryan Harsin...and... lol Would she even leave home for a big raise?? Unless forced to.
Met Dot R a couple of times when she was in Clermont, think that would be a great hire. And you could get the sisters as assistants and just see how things develop. Certainly wouldn't be the worse move. And no, none of that family will be in Gville lol
Culture fit? Like Boston, MA native Bruce Pearl? Didn't he have a "show cause" NCAA dictum that kept him from coaching for multiple years? Show cause, for those that don't know, means you've broken so many NCAA rules, an NCAA probation would follow you to a new head coaching job. One of my best friends is an AU grad, and big booster. He's in the win at any cost club.
Pearl was in sEC prior to AU,, so was at least somewhat adapted culture wise to south. Yes he had a bbq that ncaa frowned upon. We can compare ncca violations per school whenever youd like. But would rather not. Pearl seems to have worked out great, and hasnt stopped other schools from hiring his protoges.. Tell your friend to donate more to the baseball NlL fund.. Butch is complaining about lack of NIL funds(Were 5th in sec baseball NIL)
Tell you what, the Baylor coach really impressed me this weekend. I think any team would do well with him
Funny , that thought crossed my mind as well. Meant to go check out bio. Wow, hes been there 24 years. And was LSU HC the 2 years prior..Interesting.
If Tarr left Dub for Auburn I would fall off my chair in dead shock. I think they make a play for Marissa Young but don't get her and go with the SE Louisiana coach if he is willing to take the job.
I agree with 2/3 of that.. No Tarr, Glasso took asst job at AU, like 3 days b4 Cajuns offered HC job. So taking it not in question imo,,and prob on the cheap by comparison to other candidates. If Young even offered, Ill fall of chair and wont get up.
You don't get a NCAA show cause levied against you just for hosting a BBQ. And schools being interested in the assistants that learned from one that did might suggest they want to get in the "game". That said, I may have not made my point clear enough. There is no amount of money, or looking past prior missteps, that would prevent AU from doing whatever it takes to have an elite SB program. At the very least, they want to be better than Bama. Classic little brother syndrome.
Wonder if she enjoyed Gainesville. Kayla Beaver lost to Bama in regional then promptly transferred there. Albeit she was a bama fan but still.
It occurred to me that maybe Glenn Moore, the Baylor Coach, is moving on and that Rylee Crandall is in the portal to move with him.
Funny, Got to speak to Coach Moore this past weekend and I thought to myself - damn, this guy would kill it at Auburn.
Rylee Crandall, the Baylor Super Regional 2nd and 3rd game starter is in the portal. She has two years of eligibility left. I bet she ends up in the SEC. Softball America rates her number three in the transfer portal list.
Alabama has already gotten one from the portal: Alexis Pupillo C/UTL Northern Iowa Softball America rates her sixth in the transfer portal.
Kinda an unfortunate name for a pitcher, but I guess it beats Madi Illegalpitch. I looked her up and she seldom left the bench in two years -- one inning this year and eight innings last year.
