11.7 scholarship to spread among the roster - same with baseball, which is criminal, IMO.

I don't think we try to do anything in the portal this year unless there is a good veteran pitcher we can get or some superstar level player that you can't ignore.

You're probably right. Tim Walton is very selective about getting the right fit for players coming via transfer. It would take an exceptional player, plus a special type of individual, for him to go after someone this off season, considering who we have coming back AND the freshmen we have coming in.

I have absolutely no info, but keep an eye on Jess Oakland out of Minnesota. If she hits the portal, there will be a major (bidding?) war for her.

Something surprising at Washington. Victoria Hayward, an elite alum, goes back as an assistant coach and only stays one year before leaving to be the head coach at Nevada. Could be trying to get head coaching experience but Nevada seems strange. Four of their best players hit the portal. I wonder if Washington moving to the Big 10 has anything to do with it. Perhaps good for football but a disaster for the softball program. Perhaps a lot of their players have no interest in playing a Big Ten schedule. Just a wild guess. Tarr is a heck of a coach so I doubt it is a matter of dissension or whatever.

Yea, gonna be tough on the spring sports playing a big 10 schedule. Sucks for the west coast athletes. I know I wouldn't want to be playing softball/baseball etc in the Midwest in Feb/March.

Yea, makes no sense but at least the weather is better for spring sports.

I have a friend that is a Pitt/WVa alum who pretty much checked out when WVa joined the big 12.. Hard to follow.and adios to old rivalries.

I would not be shocked at all if we don't hear that Tarr is going to Aubrun.

zero chance IMO. So I would be.

    Glasso is my guess.

If Dot Richardson wasnt 63, Id consider her.. Maybe she can leave one of her asst as HC in waiting(Kasey Fagan)
Former SEC standout and Auburn graduate assistant Kasey Fagan joined Dot Richardson's staff as an assistant coach in June 2017. Following the 2022 season, she was promoted to her current position of associate head coach.

Although Myers was pretty old,, but not a comparison IMO

If going for a big fish to make highest paid sec HC(can but wont) Id still give Kenny G a call.

Id prefer a baseball background as HC.

Doesn't Fagan have a bit of baggage to be HC in waiting?

    Prattvile, AL-Go Lions!
Sort of off topic, but why are they keeping MD in the athletic dept? Will he be in charge of bubble gum concessions?

I was mainly thinking of Kasey and her legal incident, and of course Kasey was kicked off a team just entering postseason under concerning circumstances. Not saying that ether incident should derail a career, but HC in waiting at such a young age for either along with at minimum some questions attached seems to be a leap.

Ah yeah forgot all about that.. thought you meant Haley in hand shake line fiasco..;) So they wont ever coach at UF I guess..lol Unless become top HC in country and UF looking..then Im sure wouldnt care..

But I agree a leap, but really what other sure fire options are there ? They could spend big , but wont. So it will be a mid major hire. I would be fine if just gave it to Emily Carosone. But shes been there 5 years, and was part of the horrid offenses. So??

Hes staying to do something yeah. He will be a HC again soon. Has great rep in SB world ,,why?? not sure..lol Good recruiter, horrible developer.. All the non pitching top recruits just got worse after FR year.

But thats kind of his gig I guess.. Has had dominant Ps everywhere hes been. Meagan Good and the other one at JMU,, etc.
