The Florida Gators have added 15 players to their 2024 roster via the portal, a transfer class that currently ranks 5th in the country, according to 247Sports. Billy Napier and his staff most recently added CB Cormani McClain and WR Elijhah Badger, the finishing touches on what has been a highly productive offseason for the Orange and Blue.

That's exceptional, as certain teams are really shelling out the $$ and stocking up--Ohio State and UM being two--and probably FSU is another!

There are teams that had slightly more impressive portal classes but I doubt any other school will have as many of them starting next season or in prominent back-up roles. I count at least five likely starters out of this group and and I wouldn't be surprised if it grew to six or seven.

It looks like a very strong class so far!

One that will make a big difference on the field!

I haven't kept up with the portal but that sounds like an indictment against the in-house talent we're supposed to be developing.

Sure if you want it to. Or it could also be what many believe which is that our talent pool has been greatly improved but much of it is still extremely young, especially the last two freshman classes one of which hasn't played a down in college as of yet. They could all be busts but guys like Chile's, Graham, Lagway, Jackson and so many more were coveted by the top programs. That couldn't be said for many of Mullen's takes over the years. The transfers are hopes to fill in the well known gaps as needed but the Foundation is there.

This part has me pretty excited... Okay some talking head said that we would be placing and or adding 30% of our team and that was a low-ball estimate. We changed 41% or our team and we got some great talent both from the high school level and the experienced side in the transfer portal.

I love the combination of great young talent with food proven experienced talent. And we addressed positions of need too. Napier and company did much better than even I thought he/they would do in recruiting this off season.

I can't wait to see this hungry talented team play this year.

    10-2 is possible, IMHO.

    High School Additions

It isn’t just the transfer portal that has been kind to the Gators this offseason. Florida signed the No.1 QB, No.1 DL, No.8 TE, and the No.6 and No.9 LB’s in the 2024 high school class.

Florida also added the No.1 interior offensive lineman Jason Zandamela and the 2023 No.1 CB in Cormani McClain, both through the transfer portal.

The Gators are welcoming 35 new faces to the roster in 2024, which is roughly 41% of a team’s allotment for scholarship players.

Colorado in a bad way. Prime is going to have another rough year. Hopefully his son doesn't get broken in half just to play for his dad.

I kind of feel sorry for his son. That offensive line they have in Colorado is... offensive.
