Disappointing effort.
This tournament always seems like a waste of time tho , win or lose.

 

Good night folks, we are toast... Sing the song Willie... or if you prefer Don Meredith. Not sure why Gator Gal is calling Vandy the "cheatin Dores"... it seems to me that Corbin outcoached us with a team that is more or less as average as the Gators but lacking an outstanding player named Caglianone. We were outcoached as we seem to be often.

 

Chuck jeroloman post game interview:

• their starter was good
• have to get hits with RISP
• Cheatin' dores got hits with RISP but Gators did not
• No moral victories in post season - do or do not and Gators did not
• Resume is still good but not up to us. Have to wait and hope

 

Jerolman with his "coach speak stuff" Yes we saw it Chuck. He should be shown his walking papers asap. And while we're at it - Kopp as well. They're a major part of the failures this year. Same swing from the heels approach at the plate and pitchers used in a most confusing manner.
You lose a must win game with Neely sitting. Vandy throws their Friday night guy knowing they need the W and we start a rehab pitcher and leave Neely sitting. Stunning.

Well, if the season ends now then that is what they have wrought. If they get a "reputation invite" then they get to play a couple more. If it all comes together for one regional, I can see them getting to the Supers, and probably needs to get some help from the other top 2 teams, but I don't see anything like a WC team. WAY too many fits and starts in both pitching and offense.

Hopefully the lack of results this year will pay major dividends the next.

 

It wouldn't be a reputation invite. We have 13 Q1 wins and 2 series wins over hosts (and possible national seeds). If we get in, those are perfectly reasonable metrics.

 

Plus the #1 strength of schedule.
