well we don’t have a top 10 safety unit in the nation so we’re not included.

Would it really be a narrative if we still can’t win in Year 3?

Why would they be? Because they are in the SEC? ROTFL!! Do you still believer that an X-win SEC team is better than an ACC + 2-win team? Show me the least bit of evidence, and no, the nonsense that they consider an SEC their Super Bowl is invalid...

    Do your homework...

Sec last 20 years has 14 national titles by 5 teams
ACC last 20 years has 3 national titles by 2 teams
Sec dominates the NFL daft especially 1st round picks and the ACC is no where close.
    These conferences are not close.

A 12 team playoff will show a lot.

If they don’t have em they get em. That goes for every position and is the very definition of a good team. Good teams have good players. This portal crap let’s tge top teams fill every possible void at every corner. No more having to go into seasons with weaknesses.

That doesn't mean the SEC is great from top to bottom. Of the MNC winners since 2010:

    School.........Overall.........SEC

    Alabama.....173-21.........101-14 (.878)
    Georgia.......150-40..........89-25 (.781)
    LSU.............134-77.........78-35 (.690)

Then we drop down to Glory Days...

    Florida.............................64-50 (.561)
    Texas A&M........................52-48 (.520)
    Auburn.............................59-55 (.517)

How About the rest of the SEC schools that are holding up the Top Three?

    USCe..................................54-56 (.491)
    Mizzou................................47-55 (.461)
    Miss State...........................49-61 (.445)
    Ole Miss..............................46-60 (.434)
    Tennessee...........................43-71 (.377)
    Arkansas.............................39-78 (.333)
    Kentucky.............................39-78 (.333)
    Vandy..................................24-89 (.212)

Unless you look at head to head records. Against P5 OOC teams plus Indies the last three years (why three years instead of 30 years? Because nothing much has changed):

    Georgia............9-0
    Arkansas..........4-1
    Miss State........4-1
    Kentucky..........4-2
    Tennessee........4-2
    Alabama...........4-3
    Ole Miss...........3-3
    Texas A&M........2-2

    Total...............34-14

    Mizzou...............2-4
    South Carolina.....2-4
    Florida................2-5
    LSU....................2-5
    Auburn...............1-4
    Vandy.................0-3

    Total....................9-25

    Grand Total.........43-39 (.524)

Does any Gator REALLY want to say "Thank God for Georgia?"

LOL. You're arguing for the sake of arguing.

No one cares about useless bowl games, which most schools that get to play an SEC school in a bowl game is their super bowl.

No one thinks the AAC is close to the SEC. Not the NFL, not the networks and not even FSU and Clemson, which want out of that weak conference.

Arkansas has been in the SEC for 31 years and there winning percentage is .500 with no conference championships. The 31 years prior to entering the SEC there winning percentage was .710 and they won multiple conference championships and a National championship. Want to talk about Texas A&M?

You could easily argue that Arkansas's Fans and program have more passion for football than any program in the ACC and would instantly be one of the more physical teams in the ACC. Other than FSU and Clemson, I don't think they care that much at all. That is why they call it a Basketball conference. If Arkansas had been in the ACC for the last 31 years they would have a much higher winning percentage and multiple ACC titles. When you start winning you gain confidence, you start to believe, which is huge for any team sport. Then others start to believe and you gain more support and talent and it makes it much easier when you are playing weaker competition. When you are not winning consistently it is hard to gain traction.

The only reason the ACC has any respect for the last 20 years is because of the VERY surprising run Dabo went on with Clemson.

It is the job of the AD to give his program every advantage they can get to winning championships. This schedule is ridiculous and he needs to sort it out.

Wow! Two clichés in a row! Neither one is true. Bowl games are only worthless when you lose.

    Never said they were.

Of course, they were in the SWC, of which half the schools went G5. But look at Texas A&M and Mizzou a dozen years before and after joining the SEC. They didn't become bottom feeders.

Because it's Arkansas, not the SEC. And there are ACC teams that share their passion. Clemson, Virginia Tech, FSU, and NC State, to name four.

Never seen a game in Blacksburg?

nLOL! You have no idea if they would or wouldn't. You're just conference honking.

So what's our excuse? Only because of our "gauntlet" schedule? Lol!

LOL! As though the Noles don't exist. Besides, what's surprising about Clemson?

I agree about our schedule this year, but even ours isn't often this tough.

Then why did some SEC teams vote for an 8 game SEC schedule as opposed to a 9 game SEC schedule if they weren't hoping to win 6 games (with an easier schedule of only 8 SEC game) to get into a bowl game if bowl games are so unimportant?

Obviously... there are many other teams think bowl games are important.

The teams in the SEC that know they'll never sniff the playoffs need that bowl game to try to keep their fans engaged. No hope for post-season play = coaches getting fired and donations plummeting.

Bowl games are important financially, but if you are a program and fan base that expects championships being in the Music City bowl playing Duke or Georgia tech is really uninspiring but is very inspiring for Duke or like to play an upper tier program.

The out of conference W/L stat is full of holes and variables( who played who, how, when, etc...) and only shows one side of the equation so there is nothing to compare it to, thus it doesn't really prove anything.

The only way to compare conferences is to compare the programs directly.

    Alambama vs Clemson
    Georgia vs FSU
    LSU vs Miami
    Oklahoma vs North Carolina
    Texas vs Virgina Tech
    Florida vs Duke
    Auburn vs NC State
    Tennessee vs Virginia
    Texas A&M vs Pitt
    Etc...
As you can see they don't match up under most metrics. This would be similar to any other conference. In the SEC you have to bring your A game every week, because you are most likely playing a team with NFL level talent. This was less true 25 years ago, but the SEC has excelled and has been dominating college football for the last 20-15 years in all areas.

Under the current system 1-2 loses will most likely take you out of the running regardless of how good you are at the end of the season. Having the toughest schedule in the country has ZERO value and can only be detrimental. There are no awards or prizes for this.

Now, if we had a true play off system like every league in the world has from Pee Wee football to the NFL then it is a moot point.

The players and coaches will never complain about it, as they would look silly, but someone has to stand up for them and that is the Job of the AD to do the right thing. One thing that might have soured SOS time here was the lack of support from Folly at times. When SOS called out things that were not right or ethical, he did not always have his back on some things. I think it may have created some real tension.

I agree that is very unlikely barring injury to Mertz. I doubt anyone expects Mertz to have lower expectations over last year. The OL should be improved, and he has more weapons! Mertz should easily surpass 3,000 yards, and I don't think that's a reach! The defense needs to do their job, and Mertz should have even better stats. Experience is an invaluable asset, and it serves Mertz well!

We really won't know about the OL until play starts. With that said, I have a great deal of optimism for the OL and it's depth! From what I have heard and read, the OL unit has been putting the work in to be in the best possible shape! To me, that speaks volumes!!! Pearsall will definitely be hard to replace, but Badger will fill in nicely!
