You're posts prompted me to re-examine a position I hold per my faith, which seems persistently challenging--which serves as a good reminder, that faith in Jesus Christ, is always challenging. For me anyway--and the more I read of the saints, the more I find myself in good company, in that regard at least.

You are correct. It was a subservient position. The servant was likely a favored slave. That does not preclude relationships between people of equal economic status or class.

It's clear from reading the whole context he was saying that being a SAHM was a superior choice to a corporate career. It is also a tenet of this kind of faith that SAHM should be the only option and without no fault divorce also.

 

I would submit that he was actually saying something a bit more extreme - he was saying that SAHM is a calling (vocation), and a women's complementary role, and that otherwise is violating your Divine role. It's there if you are familiar with the context

All I have to say about your recommendation is that God sends false teachers and false messengers as judgment upon those who close their ears and do not listen. Just so you know that I am not making that up it is stated in 2 Thessalonians 2:10-11. A person claiming to be a Christian is not immune from that judgment. Their "Christianity" can be the strong delusion that God has sent them because they did not love the truth. God's purpose in sending them this delusion they now call "Christianity" is so that they will be devoted to eternal destruction. Why? Because they did not love the truth, as 2 Thessalonians 2 says.

Given the existence of these strong delusions and eternally destructive "Christianities," relying on spark notes alone in spiritual matters is perilous. There are wolves in the world, and Jesus warned us of them. Your soul and eternity are far too important for you to think that you looked at Lacuna's spark notes and that this makes you ready to meet God in eternity. You shouldn't do that with anyone. Not with me, not with her, not with anyone. Go directly to the source itself and drink from there. You would be better off going straight to the head spring of God's Word and drinking from it directly and then comparing it to what I have said and what Lacuna has said to figure what degree of truth there is in what each of us have said. Start in Genesis and work all of the way to Revelation. There are those who are not devoted and they will consider this to be far too much work or even impossible, but the devil is in the details, even in the details of how we interpret God's word, which is why taking spark notes about a source without actually reading and studying the source in extreme detail for yourself is perilous. You need to study the Bible like you will lose your soul for eternity if you don't do it and pray that God helps you to understand it and obey it. And I know based on interacting with you that you have not done this because I know the Bible and I know someone who is well read biblically when I interact with them.

And I’ve listened to the speech. Sounds like she’s completely comfortable carrying around a feather duster in one hand and a baby in the other. Her choice. But there’s hardly a diabolical plot for those who choose differently.

Do you want your daughter to not be self sufficient in life and to be wholly dependent on the earnings of a man just because she was born with different plumbing? I certainly don’t.

Well played ! I did work for 42 years. Enjoying retirement. I just loved the speech . So I have a different opinion and outlook. The American male has turned soft ! This will get this country in a major bind on day. All of those Palestinian protesters were mostly women and all the soft males will follow them ! The American male better wake up or brush up on Islam . Not to mention learn the Asian culture!

 

Nothing personal! I’ve got granddaughters .. 2 of them just graduated UCF and USF they will be fine. You do notice the commercials are making guys look like a goofball bum. Yet the women are the professionals

 

It's not coincidental that all these prominent SAHM advocates have homes loaded with nannies, housekeepers, butlers, chefs and gardeners.

 

If you're saying that American men are emasculated, it seems fair to ask which countries you're comparing us to in that regard.
