I just saw a tweet from CSPAN showing Defense Secretary Austin. He was asked if he was concerned that Iran is going to try to blame Israel or the US for the helicopter crash? He replied: "The US had no part to play in that crash and that's a fact, plain and simple." I noticed he left Israel out of that answer. Interesting......
Why would they blame Israel? That would basically force them to go to war. If they wanted that they could have done it already when Israel attacked them about a month ago. Not any doubt about who did that either.
Not our place to speak for another country. Last thing we need is to be in the middle of that. At some point we will say something like “Israel says they weren’t involved and we don’t see any evidence that they were. All evidence says that this just appears to be a tragic accident.”
It's worse than that. If a mountain was moved, that means the Prophet was involved. Talk about embarrassing for the Mullahs!
Based on your Kobe reaction, I thought you were going to go with "only the 2nd most evil guy to die in helicopter crash recently"
If it was an onboard explosive or rocket there will be residue and parts laying around. That would be unusually clumsy for Mossad. But you never know
The plane hit the mountain, the wreckage is clear. A missile impact would have been strewn over a large area, and a bomb would have too if they were at any kind of altitude. It was a tiny crash zone. Not to mention, Iran would already be screaming about it. Not everything is a conspiracy, sometimes bad things just happen. And aircraft, especially ones built in 1979, mountains and dense fog don’t mix. I think their statement was already acknowledging that. Basically they said “if we find Israeli involvement, blah blah blah”, so they did their saber rattling but knew the truth. A bad decision by a pilot on a bad day in an old chopper. Sucks for Iran, but Mother Nature usually wins.
