I don’t elevate a ragtag bunch of ridiculous rioters stomping around the capital to be worse than 911, Pearl Harbor, the Oklahoma City bombing, the explosion on the battleship Maine, or a host of other terrible events in our history. I don’t give them the credit that you do. Nobody stomping around in a buffalo hat is a threat to anything.
How about the rest of the conspiracy to overturn an election and not transfer power? You OK with the establishment of multiple fake elector slates? Coercing state election officials? Trying to coerce his own VP? The fact that ANYONE is not entirely outraged by that egregious criminal assault on our constitution is mind-boggling.

Seems reasonable. Hopefully every losing sitting POTUS will establish fake elector slates and call up state's Secretaries of State asking them to "find" enough votes to swing the state. And forcefully implore their VP to not certify the election. Wouldn't make the sky fall.

so if djt was succesful and was appointed potus by a fake group of electors, would that have been a threat to our democracy? when elections don't matter and power brokers appoint themselves potus, it is no longer a democracy, would you agree?

No, you’re not being like me at all. I never said those were not “that big of a deal.” Why do you take someone’s view and twist into some kind of extreme character. Why can’t you accept that not everybody sees things to the same degree that you do? Just because we don’t see things exactly as you do, doesn’t mean that we represent the opposite of your views. What was the net effect of those events? Did they succeed? Do they come anywhere close to succeeding? It has been pointed out numerous times on TH that all of Trump’s legal challenges to the election results were bounced out of court on their heads. Isn’t Trump going to be prosecuted for his efforts in Georgia? Didn’t Biden become president? Or was there any delay whatsoever in Biden becoming president? Seems to be the system worked, and the perpetrators are being punished, and our country has moved on just as it should.
Yes, if Trump had been successful, then that would’ve been a threat to the democracy. But he wasn’t successful. He didn’t come anywhere close to succeeding. Our system easily defended itself and moved on as it should.
Slight correction in your comments. The transition of power took place at the inauguration. I don’t think the inauguration was delayed.
