This, comes from a source allegedly representing Colorado, and you will realize when you start watching. It sounds legitimate--full of $$ incentives to maturate and progress to a full scholarship. Again, I have not verified this information, but it sounds like the deal was smartly drafted; even if the dollar amount differs vs what this video indicates. There are no underlying negatives about this story, unless you are peeved by the insinuation of this appearing like a NFL contract! The insinuation does not bother me, since this, IMO, was prudenttly drafted! Enjoy!!!
It was always insinuated that he got a big NIL deal for not taking a scholarship. I talked to a client who is on the inside of the USF collective. Apparently they offered a scholarship but little NIL money. Also that was the same scenario for several G5 schools.
Hope he takes advantage of his opportunity. Looks like the contract is well-structured. Got to wonder what his motivation was, I'm hoping it has something to do with the Gator inside of him!
$200k seems like a bargain to me. Most concerning to me from that video was the weight he was pushing on those flies - looked like 20 pound dumbbells.
NIL and scholarships aside, UF is a good fit for him and he's a good fit for UF. Even if he doesn't start, he'll be an immediate replacement to Marshall in '25 and an upgrade in speed. But yea, this deal sounds perfect given McClain's history.
This has parallels to Bama's coach rehab plan: giving an off field role to get all of the coaching experience for peanuts with the toxic coach getting a big payoff in a couple of years, while Money gets a chance at top tier ball with a big payoff down the road with performance while UF has no risk. Gotta think this will be a much more frequent occurrence for guys with raw talent that things didn't work out for them in the first 2 years. I think we need some more rehab coaches too who can contribute to defensive game plans. This is why the Roberts hire was huge.
I moved this over here to Awesome Recruiting. I wonder if @candymanfromgc or anyone else has heard similar information from Florida-related sources?
Yay, another podcaster with anonymous sources and nothing credible to back up anything he says. Add to the ever growing list of don’t clicks.
NIL is going to morph into something different for each different school. It will be interesting to see how this NIL evolves.
Thanks, ET, and I appreciate you asking others to weigh in on this! If this is close to the deal, I am ecstatic, as it gives Cormani motivation to prove himself and grow!
Performance based contract, makes sense. Another step to NFL lite, it's just a matter of time. Now if only CFB could figure out how to get that to work with coaching contracts too while they're at it.
Many of the NFL coaches make less than college coaches so they don’t do everything terrible. I’m waiting to hear the word collective bargaining agreement.
I’m not so sure this kid is not just a whiner and won’t be a problem in the locker room. Where are the metrics that we get to cut him if he doesn’t perform up to his contract specifications?
The metric, is CBN telling him to clean out his locker and that he is no longer a part of the team, if the above occurs. There are no guarantees for anyone that they have to stay with the team until season’s end.
A .3oz transfusion of Tim Tebow blood will add 30 lbs of muscle and also mitigate any bad behavior. 1 full oz will turn him into Brandon Spikes...be careful with that dosage.
