Former Gator Lorenzo Lingard ssigned as an UDFA with Jacksonville.A bit dated but I totally missed it. According to NFL he was the # 25 rated back. I wish him well. Hearing Rod Moten impressed the coaches with his improvement at lb in duch a short time and has really put his heart in it.. Expect to see less of Big Dez this fall. No he hasent lost weight but he is 3rd on the deoth chart.

I'm glad LL is having some success. He was a local kid....pretty sure injuries set him back at the college level.

Ron's father was a helluva LB at UF. I loved watching him play.

I feel bad for Dez, but he's made his own bed. He has some talent, but at some point bad choices will come back to roost.

The Dez situation is just a head scratcher in a lot of ways. I’m fearful what will happen to him after football.

I think they are both Ron if I'm not mistaken...the current player is either a Jr. or a III.

Jackson and Lyons would likely be in the 2 deep of most SEC defenses, so this should not be surprising. It was already happening last year in snaps played. The depth is not like Dez' first year when getting in the 2 deep was a cake walk.

With the depth that we have, the staff needs to redshirt him and have him lose weight. Both for football and life. He is at a very unhealthy weight and it's going to get much worse when football is over.

That perhaps should be an option.

Lets be honest. Desmond has been here 3 years. That's enough history to determine where he is as a football player. He is basically a really big guy where football is just something he does and not something he loves to play. If the latter was true, he'd have made some progress to build himself for an NFL career by now.

Even going into this spring, he lost ground on getting to the proper playing weight. This is the spring before his last year mind you. It is now or never as far as football for him and he went the wrong way coming into spring (listed at 464 lbs!). That's not a good sign for his football career and don't see it just suddenly changing.

Thanks for posting. I’ve always liked Lorenzo as a player. I wish he’d come here out of high school.

I’m glad he’s finally healthy enough to get a chance at the NFL.

Gastric sleeve surgery coupled with dieting to knock off 150 lbs. redshirt and come back when at a healthy weight. I had the surgery and lost over 100 lbs. seven years later, I still don’t have the sensation of hunger because the 85% of the stomach that is resected is the part that produces gretilin (sic) the hunger hormone.

Even the sleeve doesn't work for some people because it is not just the hunger sensation or the amount eaten for some people but is a hormonal or other issue.

We can't really be sure of what he has done or can do about the weight issue. That he is given chances even when we have some depth shows how the coaches feel about his efforts.

Relegated to 3rd string...uggh. Normally Id think anyone in that scenario goes into the portal...but Im not sure how he would actually fit in the portal. Is there a weight limit on the portal?
