this one was unexpected and stood out…..

“Let’s not be so serious all the time
“The way that relationships are built is not merely by expressing differences and telling someone what they should do or should not do. A true, authentic friendship or relationship is built around fun and engaging each other in things that you enjoy. “

Note…my comment on “fruit” is in regards to the Pope and his position. Not of the Catholic Church.

You are spot on…every denomination has problems in leadership. I am just saying the current Pope and his current fruit is problematic and at odds with what Jesus and the Bible teaches with what appears to be an attempt to conform to Culture and Society rather than teach and preach the Bible. I think many Catholics see it this way.

I will provide the topic if you honestly do not know what the Pope recently did. But I am trying to avoid the red herring a few posters will begin to use. There is a reason md keeps posting as he/she does. They know the topic. They know the Pope is pushing a position to appease Culture and Society rather than teach and preach what Jesus and the Bible says. Most Catholics understand this. But some are being led astray imo…

Please, speak what's on your mind. The Pope has done many things. What is it you think he has recently done that does not align with what Jesus taught?

If its Townsend, he's gone now. They signed the gang rape guy to replace him. (Forgot to add that to the reasons everyone can hate the Chiefs)

It is not really on my mind. I have seen the news. I know you almost surely have as well. Do you really want to allow the red herring out and play the game some here want?

I am very confident you know exactly what the Pope did to conform to the world which is the exact opposite of what Jesus did…

    Matt Araiza?

He was clearly not guilty; never charged, never arrested and the investigation proved his accuser to be a troll, ala Duke Lacrosse case.

In fact, the investigation confirmed that he was not even present at the party, at the time the incident occurred and had left at least 30 minutes prior.

It surely has been on your mind as you have posted several times "he is doing things that are the antithesis of the teaching of Jesus and the Bible." I don't view that as a red herring at all. Let's discuss what you meant by the pope doing the antithesis of what Jesus taught or did.

I didn’t follow the aftermath of this case, but the recent articles that came up seem to NOT suggest that parallel to the Duke case. Where are you getting that?

Even this Araiza fellow claimed to have consensual sex with her, and that is the defense of the others as well.

Can we really pin down his absence to a 30 minute window from before the alleged “inside the house” rapes? Maybe it’s tough to get conviction with some uncertain details and drunkenness. But bottom line is the girl was 17, and if his defense is “hey, I just had sex with this drunk 17 year old out on the lawn 30 minutes before the other guys brought her inside and gangbanged her” - I’m not exactly sure I’d run with this “total exoneration” angle. In some states this is statutory rape for crying out loud.

Looks like his jersey is a hot seller.

Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker's jersey is among the NFL's top-selling jerseys after his controversial commencement speech drew widespread criticism.

As of Friday afternoon, Butker's red Nike No. 7 jersey is the "most popular" for Chiefs players on the NFL's online shop, ahead of popular teammates star quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce. His jersey, which can be bought for $129.99, is currently listed as one of the "top sellers," according to the website.

LOL. I can't imagine the sort of loser who drops $129.99 on a kicker's jersey to own the libs.

More like something the prosecutors felt was too much “he said, she said” and possibly a little bit of sweeping it under the rug.

I guess in New Mexico it isn’t statutory. Still sounds like a totally effed up situation, and if his particular role wasn’t rape at best this guy was first in line to take advantage of this girl. Even Deshaun Watson can say the same (never arrested or charged). He’s still clearly a POS.

This tells me you know exactly what the issue is and what the Pope did. You know what Jesus taught in Matthew where he went straight to Genesis to do so. Yet the Pope wants to conform to Culture instead…

So now you are a mind reader?! Yes, I did infer your avoidance to directly address the issue might be related to the Vatican's declaration announced in December of 2023. It was curious, the way you danced around it, avoiding discussion, putting the onus on others to respond and perhaps define the parameters of discussion.

Why the reluctance to respond directly? Have you read it? What part of the declaration disturbs you and why? How does it conflict with what "Jesus taught"?
