Not to get too far afield, but I don't think it was just about the mere expression of Cathy's personal belief. My recollection is that Chick-Fil-A had spent millions funding various anti-LGBT groups and initiatives.

I am careful and don't put my opinion in place of who really gets to decide these things. You should be careful. Those who think that they get to determine who are and aren't the apostates often may not appreciate that answer (or maybe they will, I don't pretend to speak for God). In the end, you think he has a better understanding because he has something more akin to your understanding. Not necessarily to God's. And that is what fundamentalists don't ever fully understand in their arrogance.

Have fun KC taking the dead money salary cap hit, because they will owe him every cent of his contract whether or not he steps foot on a field again.

It's not good for the unity of his team. I saw what happened to smaller ad agencies in the early years of the MAGA blight. A lot of ugliness and eventually dismantled partnerships because people were too open about their support for Trump.

I wasn’t aware of that, but apparently they did contribute to the Salvation Army and fellowship of Christian athletes. Perhaps those groups have taken less than friendly stands to gay marriage, but I don’t think that is what they are fundamentally about. I think the biggest backlash was about the interview.

Again, it shows how things are blown up and distorted to advance a preferred narrative.

New York(CNN Business)Chick-fil-A is making major changes to its charitable foundation, ending donations to two organizations that have been criticized for being anti-LGBTQ.

The fast food chain announced Monday that beginning next year it will only donate to a certain group of charities. That list no longer includes the Salvation Army and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). Both organizations have taken controversial stands on homosexuality and same-sex marriage.in

Speaking of team unity, I hear KC is looking to bring in a free agent to be the new holder.

One very critical difference between Kap and Butker. Butker did this completely in a personal capacity, not related to the Chiefs in any way. It wasn't any type of official or even unofficial Chiefs function. He wasn't at a Cheifs press conference, he wasn't even wearing any Chiefs attire. He was representing himself, not the Chiefs.

Kap did it while in uniform, while representing the 49ers, not himself.

If Butker was going overboard during a game while representing the Chiefs I would say the same thing.

Say what you want but you leave your views at the door. The minute you put on the uniform you are representing your team, your organization, your city and your fans, not yourself.

If Kap kept it off the field he wouldn't have had nearly the blowback he did.

Sanctimonious? I took it as defensive. About the worst thst can be said and substantiated, is that he set up strawman to attack his beliefs, then defended them.

Imo, he could have states his position in the affirmative, and affirmatively developed the virtue of traditional marriage and Catholic teaching, without prefacing (but never deveoping) the 'diabolical lies' thing. Take that part out, and all he's doing is pitching traditional family life (while volunteering his wife, as his witness--leaving me at least, to wonder if she would really back his play as claimed. Much as I question if your wife would back your claims about her. Personally, I suspect my wife would rather stay at home--but I wouldn't pretend to speak on her behalf, without clearing it with her. Maybe that's just me...).

In any event, this guy saying his traditional family arrangement is good--is categorically NOT an attack on anyone else's lifestyle, least of all yours, a complete stranger to him.

Meanwhile, you literally hold that compelling a dude to bake a gay cake for a gay wedding, when such is a abject abomination to the baker's religion, is somehow not forcing one's views on another.

NB: by "anti gay initiatives", you actually mean preservation of traditional, historical institution of marriage.

No one was ever "attacking" anyone in the Lgb(alphabet) community.

Well, maybe seeking to protect children from overt plans at grooming them by members of the said community...

Take out the diabolical lies part, completely different speech. But it's in there. And I'm 100% sure my wife wouldn't prefer to stay at home. We've talked at length.

As for a baker. Open a public accommodation shop, better be prepared to serve all equally, as the law says.

So Tebow should have left his John 3:16 and other eye black messages at the door? You were against that?

Open a little Debbie convenience mart, and you might have a point.

Operate a unique boutique where your product is customized, and being compelled to do something against your beliefs is outrageous.

Should you be compelled to make a nazi cake with swastika and kkk stuff for a white supremacist gathering of klansmen, neo nazis and Arian nation types?

Aa for the diabolical lies bit-- still nothing close to an attack on anyone.

Maybe atttacling the poor :devil:devil:devil: for being  diabolical:devil: and lying????

    :confused:o_O:confused:o_O

If the team or league came out with a policy stating no personalizing uniforms in any way then I would have no problem with them telling Tebow to knock it off or be subject to progressive disciple as per employer rights to make rules.

Pig socks or writing John 3:16 should be viewed equally in that regard but people can't be objective or act like adults.

Are Nazis a protected class? Do they have a SCOTUS decision similar to Obergefell I'm unaware of? And if two couples ask for identical cakes, one couple straight, the others gay, just how customized is it?

Completely uncalled for. If there is one institution that's holding the line vis a vis culture and traditional family values and distinction bt the TWO sexes, it is the one, true, holy Roman Catholic and APOSTOLIC Church that Jesus Christ founded.

Even under one of the most liberal of popes...the Church is holding the line.

I understand that, I was responding to the part of the message i had bolded where the poster I quoted said when you put the uniform on you are representing the team not yourself.

And BTW, when Kap kneeled the NFL did not regulate standing for the anthem. Hell, it wasn't until 2009 when they were even required to be on the field for it.

Nazi speech is protected. But they aren't a protected class. You're a lawyer. You should understand this.
