Not sure, but my guess would be Senior RHP Angelina Bonilla. She's pitched the most innings for them by quite a bit and is 15-5 with a 1.68 ERA and 9 saves. When we beat them 9-0 in 5 innings on March 20, they started Claire Maulding and we scored 4 runs on her in the 1st inning. They brought in Ally Hume and we got 5 runs on her in 3.2 innings. Another pitcher of theirs we didn't see was Allison Sparkman, a freshman RHP with a 12-4 record and a 1.49 ERA. But my guess is they'll start the senior.
Tim Walton had a lot of impressive things to say about this year's team. Well worth listening to this interview. Thanks for posting.
Of course she would but we need to protect her also. She’s ace #2. The tournament is a grind especially for pitchers. The loss against USF shouldn’t be placed solely on Olivia’s shoulders. To lose to a team that hadn’t beat us in twelve years was a failure by the entire team not one player. We should coast through regionals, have some faith and enjoy the ride.
Absolutely not all of the USF game on Olivia shoulders....but the fact she has struggled in every outing for quite some time remains the relevant point.
Right now it's showing mostly cloudy Friday with only a slight chance of rain. About the same for Saturday. Looks like maybe some storms coming in late Saturday night and contuining until mid afternoon Sunday. Forecast could be different tomorrow morning, though.
I'm not sure if it was posted but if yall haven't listened to the d1sotball podcast with Amanda Lorenz this week. It is fantastic with our whole coaching staff.
lol....virtually every player who is blowing off their current team and entering the portal starts out their announcement with "after careful consideration"....Morgan Zerkle is still a quality player in Athletes Unlimited and is the new head coach at Marshall. She has made a big decision too:
Whatever choice he makes will be the correct one. I still remember game two of the WCWS in 2014 against bama. He didn’t start Hannah Rodgers and everyone was losing their minds. It was a brilliant move and Patrick Murphy was shell shocked. Hannah only came in for the final few outs and to be in circle for the inevitable dog pile.

My point is coach will do what’s best even if none of us expect it.
