Rafah is the last area Israel hasn't attacked in Gaza. Leaving Rafah means heading back north to places where Israel has already destroyed. Places likely not to have adequate running water, food, or shelter. This is called an humanitarian abuse in today's modern world. You may not care where they go, but that's a big part of the problem. There is nowhere left for them to go.

And after WWII, the world came together and formed rules of modern warfare. Never again should countries specifically target civilians, and they should do their best to avoid civilian casualties. Saying Israel should carpet bomb the area like we did back in WWII goes against everything the world has tried to accomplish with the rules of war for 80 years. And if Israel is committing war crimes, all the more reason why we shouldn't send them American made weapons to help them carry out said crimes.

Israel has already won the military side of the war. But how in the hell are they going to successfully find and kill all 40,000 Hamas members? And do so without Hamas sympathizers from reorganizing and creating the next generation of Hamas, or whatever the next terrorist group may be called?

That's the point of winning the war which has not yet been won and establishing the peace. For sure, there are going to be fewer Hamas sympathizers left. There are no crimes when people cease being civilians and become enemy combatants.

This is 100% certain, neither Hamas nor the PLO will be allowed to be in the leadership as they have already proven to be impossible for Israel to deal with. They will never accept the state of Israel. This alone makes them non-starters in the peace process.

Darn, that "if" word again. There is zero proof Israel is committing war crimes.

BTW, the IDF is walking into Rafah as you read this. So far, they have been largely unopposed, but we both know this phase isn't going to last unless somehow 40,000 Hamas fighters flee the city or surrender. Biden could be helpful by calling for Hamas to surrender and especially so if they are defeated as you claim. From all I've read, Hamas believes they are winning the war. They still require from the river to the sea for peace in the region.

There is more than zero proof of Israel committing war crimes. You just choose to ignore it. I don't. I want the evidence investigated.

The issue with Israel going into Rafah is there is no place left to go with any infrastructure to take in the thousands of refugees in Gaza. That's a humanitarian crisis. You can't stay in Rafah because Israel will make it hell. So instead, go to the places Israel has already made a living hell! That's not a good solution, and leaves thousands of Palestinian refugees with nowhere to go.

I also hope you see the paradox in your posting. The Palestinians will never accept Israel, and won't allow for Gaza to be ruled by Hamas or terrorists, but somehow, there will be a lasting peace with Israeli rule in the area? Please explain how this is possible. Short answer, it's not.

I've stated before, terrorist groups like Hamas is like a cancer. Leave one cell behind and it will start to grow again. And it's impossible to know if you get all the cancer, plus the pre-cancer cells ready to divide. All Israel is doing at this point is setting up for the next generations to be battling the same battles happening now, and the same battles their fathers and forefathers before them fought.

Every time Israel kills an innocent child, they create new Hamas sympathizers. Unless Israel carries out genocide, there will be more Hamas sympathizers among the palestinians than before.

The last polling done in Gaza before the October 7th atrocities shows only 44% of people in Gaza supported Hamas in September of 2023.

The most recent polling shows that Hamas now has 52% of the people in Gaza supporting them.

So, where does the over 9.3 million population of Israel go to save themselves if they are not allowed to win the war Hamas started and believe they are winning? River to the sea is all Palestinians care about. One-sided peace cannot be the result of this war.

They stay in Israel. Right where they are. Think Hamas, or any terrorist organization has the military capability to actually accomplish from the land to the sea against Israel? Think any country has this military ability to defeat Israel? Maybe if several teamed up, they could win. But then the US and NATO would turn the Arab world into a parking lot if this happened. It's part of MAD--mutually assured destruction.

I'm not convinced the US under Biden would come to Israel's defense. All evidence is to the contrary. Israel will go it alone and win against the numbers.

Israel living in continual fear of attack and death is too much to ask after Hamas started the war. Never again. Israeli citizens should have the same rights we in the US have, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Biden is easily the most pro-Zionist president in US history, its not even close. Trump/Biden will be the height of US-led Zionism, unless we keep electing very old boomers that remember a very different Israel. I think Israel knows this too, its their last chance to have US cover and guaranteed no-questions asked arms sales. People under 40 have a very different idea of Israel than old people from another time.

    LOL!

It was Trump who had the Abraham Accords all but wrapped up before Biden screwed everything up.

It was Trump who moved the American Embassy to Jerusalem.

It was Trump giving Israel cover so they were not attacked on his watch.

    Again, LOL!

Several Biden quotes stating time and time again that Israel has the right to defend herself. If Israel was truly under attack and in danger, we'd come to her defense. Just last week Biden said, "We’re going to continue to make sure Israel is secure in terms of Iron Dome and their ability to respond to attacks that came out of the Middle East."

Of course, it's highly unlikely it will ever come to this. Hamas alone doesn't have the might to be a threat to Israel's existence. And other groups, while happy to fund Hamas, aren't entering the fray. They don't want a larger war, nor do they want to shine the target on themselves.

Israeli has lived its entire existence under continual fear of attack and death. All homes have shelters and missile warnings aren't uncommon. It would be awesome if this fear would some day go away. But trying to accomplish this by eye for an eye tactics? It's just going to leave everyone blind.

Hey @AzCatFan - How many israelis are there? How many palestinians are there? How could we twist those to make it look like Israel is taking on a bigger country?

Over 9 million Israelis. About 2 million in Gaza. And every Israeli of age must serve in the military. That's why there are usually 170,000 active military personnel in Israel, and 465,000 in the reserves. Estimates are 40,000 Hamas members, though Hamas sympathizers in Gaza likely number over 1 million.

So if we count all the civilians in Gaza as members of Hamas, the Israeli military it totally outnumbered and is going to have to win against the numbers. Got it.

As stated before, every Israeli lives in close proximity to a bomb shelter. The bomb shelters are frequently used. Rockets in the air is a common occurrence.

This is a reality that the world chooses not to report.

But the reality, to an Israeli, is that the source needs to be stopped and punished every time they attack. Israel will never bend the knee at the expense of its sovereignty and very existence.

The numbers were the number of countries who might attack Israel for finishing the job in Rafah. I speculated these countries would quickly come to regret challenging Israel power:

    Turkey
    Iran
    Stans from Russia provinces
    Egypt
    Sudan
    Libya

Well, Israel has already started to finish the job.

No, I don't believe the Biden Administration would help Israel. Those bridges have been burned under Biden.

Sorry, I didn't have time to clarify this earlier. The thought of Arab world intervention for the Palestinians was originally brought up by Az.

This is why a majority of your family living in Israel disagree with you. (shaking head)
