As long as we still have a chance, then I will continue to hope. It might be all over Sat. but we still have life even it is on life support.

Be nice if we could win game 1 for a change. 6 straight series where we lost game 1. Tough to win a SEC series if you don't win game 1.

We’ve had our share of opportunities too. Just makes the losses hurt that much worse.

Weather Underground is showing a lot of rain for Athens Friday & Saturday. Might be hard to get in games 2 & 3.

I gather you feel there are too many SEC teams that make the tournament every year? I like the idea of including more teams from lower level conferences. It's tough for a good team with excellent performances and winning conference and overall records to miss the tournament because the at large bids are dominated by SEC, ACC and other big time programs. Not only the players and staff miss a chance to get hot and advance, but the fans miss out on traveling to Regional sites and taking in the fun competition.

I prefer to get more teams in by expanding the playoffs, but excluding strong teams from competitive conferences is an option that would open the system to smaller conferences and their teams who love baseball as much as I do. Currently, SEC has six teams with winning conference records, but may get 8-10 teams into Regionals. Gators would have been eliminated a couple of weeks ago, so that would eliminated the pressure to get wins against TN, KY and dawgs. Less presure for everyone and easier parking for the fans attending those late season games. Your preference is reasonable, but I prefer a system that has more teams included. (OK, this year, the current system means the Gators still have a chance, but I've held that view for years when Gators were certain to get in.)

It's definitrly better to have you here, but I hate to see Gators in pain. You have a lot of company with that this year. Of course, now that you mention it...

The question was what are our chances of making it. I would say about 55/45 right now in our favor.

We have to either win 2 or 3 in GA or win 1 of 3 against GA and win 3 in the SEC.

I think our chances of winning 2 or 3 are slightly under 50%, let's call it 45%. I think our chances of winning 3 in the SEC are about 10% to 15%. I know you cannot add percentages together, but this is a rough estimate and I would call it at 55%.

I hope we can put a weekend together starting tomorrow.

No, I dont really care about any conferene(incl sec),,, but if conferences are so unbalanced that one gets at large at 12-18, and another is left out at 18-12.. theres obviously a bigger issue.

And also think way to many get into post season in general. In my perfect scenario. 16-24. best of 5 series until one left standing. you can do final 4 in Omaha if makes everyone feel better. I wouldnt,,home n home

But I also think every conf winner(reg season) should get a chance to play for NC... So back to conference issues..;) Too many in D1 and way to unbalanced.

Since georgraphy no longer a factor.. We should reset and have a 'conference draft' SEC can have first pick. Bama,,ACC is on the clock

Current projections have us is an absolute nightmare regional and super regional. Southern Miss is a very tough 2 seed to play opening round. We should dread FSU for obvious reasons and FAMU is capable of giving us a heart attack like any other Florida school. If we were to make it out of that Tallahassee regional then we would face a Georgia or UCF team that we know all too well, a super talented Wake Forest that was the hottest team in the country before last weekend, or Austin Peay who is one of the best hitting teams in the nation and certainly no slouch. That Athens 1 vs 4 game would be a fun slug fest to watch.

That prediction is no more than a guess. They're right we will be a 3 seed, and right we will be the only SEC team in a Regional, but we might just as well be in ANY site. In general, NCAA talks about keeping teams close to home, but they make many exceptions every season. I see Gators as high potential for a flight to Indiana or the far coast. I agree with your assessment of those three teams, but odds are good we'll have a different foursome.

I think it depends on how many teams that otherwise wouldn't get a bid win their conference tournaments. Florida is on the bubble and each time that happens, somebody gets knocked off the bubble.
