Listening to an interview with one of the authors of this book. He says that 1/3 of the Miami economy in the 60s was CIA expenditures. Says it is a "Cold War" city equivalent to Berlin. Eric Driggs currently works for the United States Southern Command out of the Pentagon as a Congressional Liaison. He spent the previous 10 years as the Governmental & External Affairs Officer for Coast Guard Seventh District, which oversees Coast Guard operations in South Carolina, Georgia, the peninsula of Florida, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands and the Caribbean Basin. He has also worked as a Cuba Analyst at the University of Miami’s Institute for Cuban and Cuban-American Studies.
He just stated that there was a 2 year timeframe when the CIA was the largest employer in the state of Florida.
He just said that the Cold War ended worldwide except for one place - Miami. I would add Putin's head.
