If he comes from here on out he should only be evaluated on what he does after he comes here. As long as he knows from day 1 he'll also be held to the standard every other player is meaning he'll be shown the door if he tries to make the "show" about him, and he's likely gonna be competing for backup minutes at best and using this season to develop and bulk up. Let him know he's not done eating humble pie but at the bottom of the pan is an NFL career if he can stick to it and commit to it.
