I posted this in the game thread but no response. I swear the schedule said we play someone this Tuesday evening, maybe North Florida or someone like that. Now when I look at the schedule it says our next game is Friday vs UGA. Am I going crazy or was there not a game scheduled for that day? Was it scheduled and then canceled? If so, this is a big loss because we need to finish over .500 and this game would've given us a much better chance.

I have the schedule printed out from the start of the year and there was no game listed for this week.

Aren't all SEC series Thursday through Saturday the last weekend of the season due to the start of the SEC tournament on the following Tuesday?

    Yep they are.

On UF.. They will only play 54, so had room to add . Really surprised they didnt considering the predicament.

AU plays a midweek in Hoover every year this week to acclimate team to stadium.. UF can have that tomorow if want.. No need for AU...;)

You’re not familiar with UF’s athletic director and overall department, are you?

They would have to "buy" a game. Not going to happen.

Just a point of clarification about what is a midweek game and what is a weekend game.

I started college in 1972 and the weekend started after the last class on Friday and ended Sunday night.

I completed my undergrad, worked for a year, went to grad school and started teaching at UF in 1982. Taught there for 35 years straight and then had to retire as part of the State Pension program called DROP.

Now when I was late in my academic career it seemed like for the students the weekend started late Wednesday afternoon and continued to Tuesday morning. Anytime I had anything mandatory on a Monday or Friday class I got blow back and these were engineering students!

So as far as I am concerned only Tuesday evening games are midweek games.

Obviously not happening at this point, but it wouldn’t be completely unheard of. Softball brought in OSU earlier this year for a midweek after losing some games due to the weather over the weekend. Was arranged and played on a very short turnaround. If Sully wanted it, I think it could/would have happened.

You’re worse off than you were before. We had our chances with the cupcakes already this season, and didn’t fare too well. I say let the cards fall where they may at these point. Either we catch fire and make a run, or we probably don’t make the post season. It is what it is. I’ve grown numb to this season.

Maybe so, but unless we win two at Georgia this week, we are in big trouble. Win one and we would have to win two SEC tournament games to get a regional bid. Winning
an easier game ( Although none are easy with this team) through the week is worth the chance at any extra wins at this point.

Uf has bought games/matches like that in the past.....both tennis teams have brought in patsies for a late W. Baseball would be a bigger spend of course, but would also generate some revenue and would get us into postseason....so they likely wouldn't balk at trying to find a game.
Just have Tuesday night and there simply may not have been anyone willing and able

2-1 at Georgia would make us 100% safe to finish over .500 no matter what happened at SECT.
