    Not fast enough to play OF anywhere in my opinion. His defensive skills at first are WAY better than the Polar Bear, though.

    Trying to figure out what "dime" means from a Moneyball perspective. $10M per year? And from the left side.

    Maybe why they don't get paid much. LOL.

    He couldn't hit anything like Cags. He walked a lot and wasn't a great defensive 1B. He had that one famous homer immortalized in Moneyball.

    Cags is closer to Giambi but I won't say that he will be as good as Giambi. That is a tall task.

    It was just a movie reference joke..lol

    Im always leery of big HR #s in college translating to MLB,, especially the bigger(taller) guys.. Bigs swings + big zone = big problem vs MLB arms more than not.

    I've talked to scouts about Cags and they see him at 1b- solid fielder, big target, soft hands. They also said, some teams may try to test him on the mound but he will likely make it or not with his bat. Who can argue with that. One even said "there have only been two successful two-way players in the past 100 years... Ruth and Ohtani." Can't argue with that.

    But when you look at Cags strikeouts this year you might have a different opinion.

    Last year I was not sold because of the Ks but this year I am sold.

    He is the real deal.

    17 last I looked. Also a pretty low BB total, at least until current IBB barrage. By no means am I saying he never makes show or anything like that. Just the type that can struggle once in MLB.

    IMo Heston Kjerstad is best pure LH SEC hitter since Will Clark. Hits AAA pitching like its on tee.. but has scuffled in 2 seperate call ups. Not comparing the hitters, just that that last jump to MLB is hardest next level jump in any sport.

    If he can handle MLB LH pitching he will be fine. Will see a lot of it, like Jax Holliday did.

    i like Cags way more than Condon at next level(s)

    If you are hitting over 0.400 there aren't many chances to draw a walk.

    Wilk's NCAA stats:

    BA = .381
    OBP = .531
    SLG = .714

    Cag's NCAA stats:

    BA = .349
    OBP = .430
    SLG = .746

    Cag's 3rd year was better, and again, the talent around him was significantly different. Would be interesting to see this year's Cags with last year's lineup (or with Wilk's '98 or even '97 lineup). The growth of Cags leads people wondering what more can be attained; it will be interesting to watch for sure.

    Go GATORS!

    I will be pulling for him no matter where he goes. Never pulled for Mets until Alonzo became one.
