By my way of thinking, the staff would make it pretty rough with the reality checks and their demands to bring him back.

Personally I think the odds are low, but it seems like his 5 star status and the pampering that goes along with it were a bit
too much for the kid to handle.

The young man probably did not fully grasp that he had an exceedingly rare opportunity to go down a career path that "could" be lucrative
yet at the same time, exceedingly difficult. In light of social media and the social media "pettiness" of the sport, those reporting and commenting on it,
the age of the young man, and his being thrust into the limelight and told everyday of his "greatness", it is not difficult to see how he reacted immaturely.

Accordingly I hope he gets another chance to "straighten up and act right".

However if he continues on the course he has set, so far, in college football, he may want to concentrate on a degree and not the sport.

Spurrier took a chance on Jabar Gaffney after Gaffney was caught stealing some items from the locker room.
Gaffney turned things around and was a key contributor in 2000-2001.

Napier needs to firmly establish parameters and real accountability if he lets Cormani on the team.

I agree that what you do once you get in the locker room is all that should matter from that point forward. But, what you do before you get into the locker room should affect whether you get there at all.

The way I see it, IF he comes and we have to ask a player to transfer- if that's even possible now- so be it. Cormani might develop. Of the two, would prefer the WR. If we get both, great!

No argument, Mr. McClain has made his entry into Gator Nation very difficult considering his recent past actions toward UF and other programs.
I have no stake in this one way or another, other than the welfare of UF, and as I posted previously, I lean 60% toward his NOT coming.

Coach is on such a precarious footing (IMO) that he does not need any distractions in the locker room.
Add in the fact he has built a bit of mojo going into the fall, and nobody supporting Napier wants to see him get bogged down
in a problem child soap opera.

Hope his decision on McClain is a good one.

If Billy takes him, this will occur, as it will come up many times for him in interviews.

Realize for him to even be talking to Billy and UF he has already eaten a big piece of humble pie and has been served a large plate of crow. We all know most teenagers these days are dumb as hell and can't see 5 minutes into the future. Give a 17 year old millions and privileges they didn't earn and they get really dumb.

Billy has already turned a few bad apples around on the roster and got rid of the ones that wouldn't change. The one saving grace that McClain has is he grew up a Gator and he knows this is the place to turn his situation around. Now, it is up to him eat that plate of crow and play ball where his heart is.

It’s a low risk high reward. Those that don’t want him are doing it from a bitter spiteful space.

The odds of this player having such a different personality than the bulk of our team is low. It’s big time CFB. If anything he’s going to be more humble than the typical since he knows he’s running low on chances.

If he doesn’t work out then so be it. Guess what? The majority of the roster won’t be huge SEC contributors. Worst case he ends up in that group.

“Bitter spiteful space” - bullshit. There are some very sound reasons to not want McClain in our program, not the least of which is his entitled attitude and subpar performance at his last stop. Go tell Neon Deion about his bitter spiteful space as he’s who reported McClain’s issues - if you really feel that strong about it, but leave your silly virtue signaling over at THFSG

also, to add to that, there’s NO other “legit” too level p4 school that will touch him if he bombs at at UF due to anything other than him not being good enough. Anymore drama/games will land him at a FIU type of school.

He will have his head on right if he ends up at UF or any other P4 school

It’s fair to look at this with criticism and be reserved about it. I don’t need an apology from CM, he owed that to the coaches he allegedly lied to and sounds like he’s done that. Regardless of how the season goes, I hope the young man has grown up a lot in the past year. Everyone needs a dose of humility from time to time.
