I think the most generous thing Napier can do is offer a walk on spot, but I would not afford him any sort of NIL money. That hypothetical amount would be leverage that he then can use at some other school.

So no other coaches making over $5,000,000 per year are desperate for wins? There are very few coaches in the country who win big every year.

This post just shows how desperate some are to find any reason to disparage BN.

He would have to be brain dead to not be desperate to win.

He can also play wide receiver, so there's that...

He’s the type of player Kirby loves, so I wouldn’t be surprised

If Billy did take him, I would be shocked if he played any meaningful snaps this year. He is not sound in his technique or discipline nor does he know the defense yet, but he does have elite abilities of a cornerback.

I read he would most likely be a PWO. But chances are somebody drops out between now and the start of the season.

I say if he wants to come here then give him a scholly. However, he gets one chance and one chance only. One misstep and you are gone.

If he accepted a PWO spot, that would blow my mind, but it would certainly make me respect him immediately and root for him.

It would be a start, but I'll believe in that sort of unselfishness coming from this guy when I see it. Anything is possible, but this is definitely an eyes wide open kind of deal. I also know that Neon Deione is a colossal dooshnoozle too, but that doesn't mean that he wasn't being truthful about CM at CU. Many of us here remember all too well how things went down and how CM conducted himself that day - and how he has apparently continued to conduct himself to this day. FTR, I trust BN to scrutinize the hell out of this situation and then do what's best for the team. If he offers a spot of some sort (PWO?) and CM accepts that and applies himself to absorbing some lessons in FB and in life, it could be a great thing for all concerned. Personally, if we only have one roster spot we could fill, I'd rather have the WR we've been looking at. In the fulness of time, all will be revealed.

He is a teenager who succumbed to the noise in his ear and the temptation of money, and changed his mind. I'm gonna guess and say you've never had a teenager to raise. Otherwise you would know they change their minds more than their underwear.

And often times that teen doesn't even know what they want themselves and find out when everyone else does right after making impulse decisions.

But outside of changing his mind on schools, what has he done wrong?

Could take a PWO with $50,000 per year until ship opens or he earns one. NIL still can be a factor. Depends on whether he wants to play in SEC and work hard or just start at a USF type program. If kid can’t say yes immediately, UF should just move on. Want kids that want to be Gators

He trolled us pretty bad. For a kid who claimed to be a lifelong Gator fan to stab us in the back in front of everybody on signing day - I got no use for that kind of poor character on our team. Not unless he issues a heartfelt public apology to Gator Nation

This. Now, while I agree with you Skink, UF loses very little with a PWO and an NIL package that is "sane". Young males need second chances in life.
If UF does take CM on, one would think that it would be under the conditions that he attends practice and meetings on time, stays off social media, and
does all that is required of him. Any hint otherwise and he is gone.

Billy has a rough road ahead. The last thing he needs is a loud mouth locker room distraction from a kid that has accomplished nothing on the college level,
and not only that punked UF the first go round. I imagine if McClain does want to go to UF he will be called out big time as to what expectations will be.

It will be interesting to see how this goes.

I’m really hoping Billy passes on him, but he’s apparently entertaining the idea or McClain wouldn’t have already visited. Really hope the CB room is happy with whatever decision Billy makes

Truthfully posting, I'm 60% hoping he does not come and 40% that he does. Regrettably I don't trust Cormani or his handlers.
His decisions and performance over the last year leave one with little confidence. Having said that I remember another great corner
with tremendous potential that left the Gators and wound up.........getting killed.

Franz Beard wrote some very compelling articles when he was still with GC, how UF should not automaticaly "dismiss" troubled players
but to try, and help them work their way out of bad situations. This was about the tragic story of (Avery Atkins).

Yes I know UF's football team is not day care or a clinic for the troubled, but the Avery Atkins saga, and Franz's writing of it changed how I feel about
    certain players and situations.

If he's offered a PWO, it's probably not because UF doesn't think he's worth a scholarship, it's because we're already at 85 and don't have any more scholarships to give anybody. But we all know how the Summer goes and a couple of guys will probably get in trouble or have grade issues and not be there come fall, so chances are pretty good he'll have a scholarship. Plus you have to assume even if he doesn't get a ship, that NIL money would be used to pay for his schooling.
