I see comments like that all the time from people that think that is how it works

 

Were you not paying attention in 2019, 2021, and 2022.

This season looks similar

 

Not really true. This team has a good ways to go to reach those levels. Those teams all made the ncaas and the 2022 team won 42 games

 

21 and 22 even hosted. 22 lost a heartbreaker to the eventual cws runner up. That was a good team.

 

2022 was frustrating for a while but they had things figured out by this point and were on a roll. 2021 is a weird anomaly where the only thing I remember is beating Vanderbilt and getting trounced in our own regional. I feel like our pitching that year was not great but idk. 2019 will forever stink but this season hurts much more because it feels like we have a lot more potential than that team did.

 

We have a good defense and a solid offense, but the pitching is the absolute worst of the O'Sullivan era. I think he's as baffled by it as everybody else.

 

We do not have a solid offense. We have the spectacular Cags and that's it. Take out Cags and we're hitting .254 as a team. That's terrible.

 

Same ole, same ole. Cannot close out. I'll wait til next year.

 

The problem we have is our best pitchers outside of Cags and maybe Coppola are freshmen. Neely and Fisher just aren't good this year.

 

To me the thing that stinks the most about this year’s team to me anyway is the fact that they continue with the same bad (but correctable) habits that they had at the start of the season. VERY FRUSTRATING.

 

I know for a fact that the AD at FSU (a former college baseball player himself from Miss State) always meets with the boosters that are giving to NIL and actively encourages some of the monies go to baseball. Link Jarrett originally was not a proponent of NIL and transfers for that matter. His stance obviously has changed, however that was based on internal discussions on what he had to do going forward after their miserable 1st season. They have spent their money wisely as we have seen in the transfers they brought in. This is where having leaders who control money and direction is so important. I'm concerned we are lacking in this category.....

 

I would disagree with you re our offense. We have 2 1/2 players in a lineup of 9 that other teams would want in their lineup. 2 1/2......
The rest continue to swing freely with 2 strikes and fail to battle and put ball in play when needed. As I've said previously, unless we get increased NIL money in order to bring in quality players, next year will be worse than this year.

 

Our biggest NIL donor (by far) played baseball at uf and is close to sully....but there's only so much money to go around. Uf badly needs a larger pool of donors

I know. I'm just saying how involved there AD has been. Don't know if we can say the same, however I'm not in the know on that.

 

I only have a little data in that regard, I think it's the typical UF conservative approach (which I'm generally ok with) of not being an early adopter but moving in the needed direction after seeing how things are playing out. I think the UAA is probably more supportive of NIL than many of our big $$ boosters are.....and I can't blame them one bit.
