Diamond Sports Ranking has the following Top 16: Texas Oklahoma Tennessee Oklahoma State Duke Florida LSU UCLA Missouri Stanford Texas A&M Georgia Florida State Louisiana - Lafayette Virgina Tech Arkansas This would put us opposite Texas A&M - Don't like that. Just want to play someone different
So I’ve been thinking (scary I know). Obviously everyone is happy that Skylar is back. Nobody more than her I imagine. I really, really like her in the 3 spot however so does she stay there or reclaim her 2 spot. Not sure messing with things at this point would be wise considering how well everything is coming together. Any thoughts?
So Sat and Sun wipe out a month long slump st the plate? What about the glove? I think it's still in a slump...leave her where she is, at this point nobody can argue the results Korbe is getting, just makes Skylar more dangerous in my mind if she has figured things out
Just noticed the KPI updated again this morning 2 hours after the initial update: Faktor (faktorsports.com) A couple of changes: Faktor (faktorsports.com) 1. Texas 2. Oklahoma 3. Tennessee 4. Duke 5. Oklahoma State 6. Stanford 7. Florida +1 8. UCLA -1 9. Missouri +1 10. LSU -1 11. Arkansas 12. Texas A&M 13. Georgia 14. Florida State 15. Alabama 16. Louisiana 17. Virginia Tech 18. Mississippi State 19. Clemson 20. Washington Using the KPI as of today, UF and LSU are matched up in the seeding. If this holds through the SECs and both winning their regionals, it would be Gators vs. tiggers part deux in the Gainesville Super Regional. Has anyone else noticed UCLA's overall record, 34-10. UF has one less win, 43, than UCLA's 44 game schedule. There should be some kind of penalty for not scheduling a full season of games. Washington did the same thing as UCLA. However, Stanford didn't have a problem scheduling a full season. Hitting walls like the Gators did in April and avoiding injuries must be easier with incomplete game scheduling.
Lmao. Did you even read my post. I said myself I love her in the 3 spot. I was asking for thoughts not criticism lol. Korbe has proven to be a monumental steal from the portal and Kendra has been absolutely on fire. They get on Skylar bashes them in. Imo Skylar has more power than Korbe so again I like her at 3. Saturday and Sunday don’t negate the April slump Skylar fought through, however how exactly do you think slumps come to an end??? I’d say they come to an end by getting big hits in big moments like Skylar did this weekend. I’m not trying to take anything away from Korbe it was simply a question. Maybe I’m crazy however and got everything wrong. Skylar struggled for ONE month, I guess she should be benched. Someone brought up Taylor Pleasants earlier, phenomenal player who’s struggled through an ENTIRE season slump. WTH man, Skylar is back! Now the offense will be even more explosive, dangerous and impressive. Apologies I asked what I thought was an innocent question to collectively ponder.
I guess I should be thankful then that weather is never an issue in the south east that might have to be prepared for and scheduled around. It must be truly horrible playing softball in California.
Agreed. I’m well aware of the campaign Korbe has put together and the team is fortunate to have her. I like the lineup we have right now and simply shared a thought to be talked about. I didn’t expect criticism from some random guy with 7 total posts or whatever lol. I’ll go a step further and say I believe together Korbe and Jocey have willed this team to victories we wouldn’t have without them and without them talk of hosting a super wouldn’t be happening now. Skylar btw probably singlehanded willed the team to 10-15 wins last season we wouldn’t have had without her. And Kendra I haven’t forgotten you. If Kendra doesn’t do what she did against FSU we aren’t talking about possibly hosting supers.
EDIT-----ucla schedule shows 3 in conference cancellations. uf played 17% more games and i think uf had a few cancellations that would bump the % back up. ucla didn't schedule a full season, jmho.
So my number of posts decides if I can be critical? Obviously something ends when something else starts hiwever I think 2 gamea is not a trend. My point is one weekend of back to normal in my opinion doesn't mean we go back to the old lineup.. This lineup has sparked massive run production and I feel it's best to keep it as is, especially when the regular season is over. Glad I didn't post the discussion I had with a friend 2 games before coach made this lineup change...my account would have been cancelled.
Lol. ONCE AGAIN I LOVE THE LINEUP EXACTLY HOW IT IS WITH SKYLAR IN THE THREE SPOT. I simply posted a food for thought question. If you want to criticize a post of mine go for it. This forum is for discussion after all. However I insist you actually read the post in its entirety or garner a better grasp of the English language before you respond.
I think we all agree that flipping Otis & Wallace in the batting order has helped the team. But that's no knock at Skylar, IMO, as she has more power than Korbe and will be in a position to get more RBI at #3. In the Gators last 8 games, all against Top 15 teams, Skylar went 9/26 (.346), 1 HR, 9 RBI, 13 runs scored, 4 walks and 2 HBP. For the year Skylar Wallace is hitting .377, .721 slugging %, 1.250 OPS, .536 on base %, 10 HR, 50 RBI, 38 BB, 16 HBP, only 15 K's and 32-33 stolen bases. Prior to her April slump she was hitting right at .500 with an OPS of over 2.200 and other insane numbers that were even better that her POY numbers for last year. She proved herself to be human during a 3-4 weeks stretch, but when the team needed her most down the stretch in the last 8 games, she's got it going again and has proven that she is among the Top 5 greatest Gator softball players of all time.
