Can’t go with feckless. That implies incompetence. Corrupt is more like it. Sometimes they cared about cheating, sometimes they didn’t. All depended on who was involved.

I mean, my god, here was one where the NCAA didn’t even need to investigate. The media had already done the leg work.

BTW, I have to disagree with SI. It’s impossible for FSU to sully themselves any more than their day to day normal operations.

If your good at cheating, you make sure both ends are paid off.

. . . and I don't think they would have gone after the Gumps like they did unless Fat Phil at UcheaT was squealing to them with insider information on specific recruits, like he was. That's what kept UcheaT out-of-jail for all their cheating.

PS -- I edited AgingGator's post just above to make the SI cover visible for everybody. Nothing about his post.

Actually, the same is true for how Tennessee bought their starting quarterback, Iamaleava. It was a very slick arrangement where no one else was involved to bid for him. A perfect example of collusion!!!

They are most definitely incompetent, but if I could provide solid proof then I would go with corrupt.

But it seems like corrupt might end up being the best description of the NCAA. I just don't have solid proof... yet.
